Can't wait to see some of these squads with new talent compete against some of the traditional powers. Been a ton of movement within some of the strong clubs for the 25's in the last few weeks.

I assume M&D Black will still be the team to beat?

Why in the ever living world do you care when it’s not your team. Do you not have anything better to do with your worthless time than to stalk schedules to prove one team plays harder teams?

M&D and Skywalker's picked up nice talent. They both will be the teams to beat.

Was wondering if anyone knows anything about Capital Lacrosse Club? Just moved to VA and was wondering how they rate? Realize they are high school only, but can't find much on this site about them (even for <2024). Thanks

2024 team ranked 16th.

They are typically a top-20 club.

2024 Capital team played the hardest schedule in the country according to us club lax and went 7-14-1. Beat no teams ranked above them. Us club lax would say they lost well.

Capital very atypical top 20 team 33% winning percentage. Very hard schedule.

Not a top 20 team.

Capital is a well respected club that gets into the best tournaments. They have a team approach to the game and distribute the ball well. They typically do not use parent coaches and have 2 teams (Orange and Blue) at each age group. Who cares if they’re not top 10-15. Their players get good looks/offers.

I’ve coached against them and my daughter has played against them numerous times. Nothing negative to say about them at all. Their practices can be held in MD though (Holy Cross) at times.

Does the 2025 class have a dominate player? Don't believe there is a runaway top player in this class or is it to early. I've seen strong attackers/middies/defenders/goalies but not sure who the overall top player in the class is.

I am not going to mention her name but there is a middie who starts for M&D Black and takes most of their draws that seems pretty dominant.

Tons of talent but no one that has separated themselves from the pack. Make no mistake, plenty of future DI players out there...

Lots of very strong 2025’s. Not one girl stands out over any other.

There are a few that stand out. The same ones that get noticed every game and made the Futures and AS or UA this summer.

Capital is a strong, established program that can get girls recruited. In recent years some VA girls started playing at top MD club programs and have diluted the CLC pool a bit, but they’re still good. The girls used to primarily come from Stars but now they also come from Pride and other VA programs and BLC and MCE. They primarily practice in NoVa. If you live in NoVa and don’t want to drive to MD it’s a good option to consider.

M&D has a couple of dominant midfielders at this age group.

Agree! The whole extra year on the other girls does not make it impressive. holdbacks have advantages in skill and size and extra year of playing IQ!

No holdback will ever admit the advantages it brings

The year when they are 5 yrs old are crucial for their sports development. You all can keep crying about the holdbacks or you can stink it up and have your kids compete.

Girls stop growing in 7th and 8th grade. She has no advantage. Get over yourselves. For all you know she has a learning disability like dyslexia which required an extra year of kindergarten. Or maybe she was speech delayed and not ready for 1st grade. Whatever the reason, it sure as 💩 is none of your business and if you care that much about a girl who will now be playing against older girls for the next three years, then you sir are the sad one.

The teams like M&D who have 5 or 6 holdbacks are the smart ones. It is what it is.......

All holdbacks have an advantage, lets be real. Just like the boys, it gives them the edge playing with younger kids.

Pretty broad an inaccurate statement. M&D has some girls that have late '06 birthdays. This makes them on the older side of the grade but not holdbacks. At most there are 2 older girls that could be 24's and that decision was made long before they started playing for M&D and I am sure was a family decision based on what is best for their daughter. Whatever edge they have, you have do deal with it for the next 4 years. Please stop crying.

As has been said before, these girls are in HS now. So she's going to be playing against older girls for the next few years. Who the heck still cares about club lacrosse outcomes once the kids get to HS?

Disagree 100% with girls but you keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

Your kid is a holdback. And she has to play against younger girls and get humbled.

No one but the disgruntled. They will also be the ones to continue to complain long past when club is over for their daughter.

An extra year of skill development and game playing for Lacrosse IQ is a big advantage no matter what you want to say! We are not just talking about size.
