Looking forward to another thrilling year for our 2024's! I know a lot here has had contentious arguments and disagreements on many topics. But I think we can all agree, that if we're here, it can't be all that bad! These are 1st world type problems. Good luck to all our boys!!

Madlax >>> Wolfpack

But if you want to quit a tournament after losing one game and getting placed in the lost's bracket, WP might be right for you.

costs up everywhere.. most are between 2,800 to 3,800 . JUst make sure you get you moneys worth with training. Good Coaches make the difference.

Great point and topic. My question becomes what do you get with the program and cost. # of tournaments, # of practices, # of coaches, # of players on the roster, etc? So for $3k what should you expect? How many kids are too many on a team?

Agreed. Hopefully we can get past the juvenile comments this year and have some actual dialogue. If not, everyone please ignore them. They will eventually go away and find some attention elsewhere.

Hearing all the top igloo players went to either Taz or Wolfpack. Both teams will benefit nicely. But what happened to Igloo? That was a good team. There can’t be anything left. A very good thing for Taz, who had a lot of holes to fill. Any go to Express, or anywhere else?

Yes, actual good dialogue is what we All want. Everyone should create a Registered Account to post so that i)so we can see the screen name of the poster, ii) people become familiar with the poster, & iii) so that we can hold the users accountable even though we can still take action now when posting anonymously but it will make posters think twice about what they write -- If you & everyone else starts to register, the others will follow & then we can change the permissions so only registered forum members can post ascertaining for a clean forum - Register Today & Take Initiative www.backofthecage.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/newuser.html

Instead of encouraging people to register why don't you moderate the forum like you should

1) Delete comments that are inappropriate or bring no value to the thread
i.e. Madlax > wolfpack

2) When a Maryland guy comes on the long island thread and makes a comment about how long island stinks......move it to the maryland forum

These are just a few examples of how you could make the threads more informative and productive. If you keep deleting some of the people with butt comments, they will eventually go away

Exactly right. Botc has been down this road multiple times in the past couple of years. When this site is not anonymous, not one person posts. Nobody. That’s obviously not going to work. Botc claims to be “Fully Moderated” yet I’ve been here for years and have never witnessed any kind of “fully moderated”. It’s simple. Delete all dumb posts that bring no value to the site. Otherwise, why pay someone to moderate the site? In the words of legendary coach Bill Billecheck, DO YOUR JOB.

Why would you thing that? Those are valid points that every parent should be asking. Things like including helmets and gloves, or even uniforms make a difference by several dollars.

all these clubs are money grabbers that could less about any of these kids. They want to win for their OWN benefit. They will rope you into more training for extra money. Then if your kid is successful they will take all the credit. How about the majority of kids that don't play in college? All those year of training and money....I guess that all didn't pay off. These guys are snakes, be careful y'all, bottom line is your kid looks for you to protect him and steer him correctly, don't get caught up. Yes, I learned the hard way with my sons.

100% wrong. I was actually looking for opinions not ridiculous comments as I am wondering if we are at the right club. We like the price and the training model but have questions about the roster size (25 kids.)

P.S. People like you are what stinks and the general state of society. You are a pot stirrer that cant engage in normal conversations. Thanks for adding no value to the site or the world in general. Crawl back in to your hole and dont come out until you walk upright.

Not a Tazzie, but I can tell you this troll is clueless and just fishing. With the new additions from the tryout, looks like Taz will be very strong this year.

Question. Who the heck is US Club Lax . People have all of a sudden started promoting their rankings. Has anyone looked. They are for the most part totally flawed. Perhaps the top 2 2024 teams are on point but everything below is highly questionable. The domain was only registered in 2017. I remember them trying to get follows on Instagram last year by following and unfollowing kids.

Does anyone have the scoop on who controls this site? It's almost impossible to find out where these ranking are coming from.

Absolutely not. If you are familiar with Taz, then you know that they have some top talent on that team. Last year their problem was they just didn’t have enough, due to the kids jumping ship and going to Wolfpack. Their nucleous was very good, but they had some big holes. Sounds like they have plugged at least some of those holes. Time will tell, how many. Regardless, Taz will most definitely be better than last year, and last year for the most part they did quite well, all things considered.

Sounds like Express will crack the big 4-0 on the roster this year. That Chan is one smart hombre.

Igloo still a good team - still ranked top 3/4 in Long Island in all grades

OMG are you really referencing that site? Igloo is fine. Probably 4th on the island in 2024 and in top 25 on east coast not bad.

“With one of the best coaches for the future”. Can you explain that comment? Taz has had a different head coach almost every year since their inception. The coaching carousel of all 2024 teams, to be sure. Talking about “best coaches for the future” is a laughable statement, based on Taz’s history in this area. And with the exception of the Keenan years, the results from the coaching is open to scrutiny.

The domain is registered to a guy in NJ. And guess who bought his lacrosse club? Dynamic Sports aka 91. The site is a complete 91 hoax.

Sounds like you take exception to the rankings. Not a 91 parent, but hard to make an argument for 91 not being the number one ranked team, if we are being honest. Amazing what they have accomplished in a very short period of time.

I don't have a problem with 91 being on top - but as you go down the list it becomes very sketchy. How did this site all of a sudden become the go to site for for ranking club teams. It was just started a little over a year ago and was able to get traction on Instagram using the Follow Unfollow technique used by many wannabe social media people. If you are going to do a comprehensive ranking system at least get your systems right. Getting the top 5 is easy. Anyone can tell you the top five teams. It's the rest of the field that deserves real attention. Has anyone looked at these ranking. Would love to hear your thoughts.

Wow! That site must be on your mind 24/7. Why don't you just stop beating around the bush and enlighten us with what you think the top 10 ranking should be. Then we're going to guess your son's team and your biases (which will be your son's team, your friends' teams, your wife's boyfriend's son's team.. in that order). In the end, your ranking will be just as dumb.

Agree it is young and shady that it is owned by 91 but they are the only ones out there using Tourney Machine data to determine rankings. Unfortunately it looks like their data set is not complete and their algorithm needs some work but it is better this year than last.

they are not accurate at all. They didnt even use the 2024 Nationals in Maryland tourney for ranking purposes. No telling what tournaments they used and if teams even played in the ones they used. Lot of teams who beat a team are 20 spots below that team that is just ridiculous. Top 2 teams correct but after that gets bizarre.

You're probably having a conniption over Inside Lacrosse 13U Final World Rankings. The problem is, you contribute nothing to advance the narrative.. always a conspiracy theorist. ps.. dog men do not exist, high register sean.

91 Long Island is probably the top program overall. Hard to argue that if you're looking at 2020-2025. However, they are also the shadiest and biggest bunch of money grabbers. So by having this site affiliated with them, which it is, it makes the whole thing suspect. Even if the guy running it is the most honest guy in the world there is a conflict of interest that is plain as day.

What evidence do you have that indicates 91 is the “shadiest and biggest money grabbers”? Simply because they are the biggest and most successful club in the country? The club is a top tier club in all respects and I’m not just talking about winning T-shirt’s. How many teams do you know with no holdbacks? Or how many WSYL teams went into that with 100% their own kids? The answer to both questions is two. The 2024 91 Wolfpack and the 2023 91 Bandits. You think that’s shady?? That’s the exact opposite of shady. For those two grades, 91 is the least shady of likely all teams. And, it’s by far the most professional run organization that I am aware of, and I’m aware. It’s also one of the most expensive teams out there, no question about it. But you get what you pay for. At this point, you sound like just another mindless jealous hater.

Bandits just took 3 reclassed 2022s so I guess you don't know as much as you think. As for a professionally run organization, that's a joke. Their office staff can take days to get back to you if they even do at all. If by professional you mean focused mostly on profits at the expense of anything else, you're spot on. How was Laxfest again? Play any good teams? No, but you were stuck going and probably bitched the whole way on how it was a waste of your time. At least you didn't have to #WolfPackUpAndLeave from that tournament.

Wolfpack did not go with their own. 3 best kids on team came from taz and express. nice try. good luck with your lil kids next year. at least you have the argument of holdbacks.

I'm a long-time lurker from outside of any of the traditional hotbeds...these boards are pure entertainment gold smile

The US Club Lax rankings are flawed, for sure...as someone else pointed out, they don't have every tournament played in their ranking system and the algorithm needs to be tweaked, but I commend the effort and the rankings are as good as we've got (really all we've got, actually - the Nissan/IL 13U rankings only rank teams who play in WSYL qualifiers)

I will say that they are relatively transparent about the shortcomings of their system. When they posted the final top 100 on Instagram, they posted 4 slides which explained the rankings - one on the RPI calculation (Winning Percentage, Opponents Winning Percentage , Opponents-Opponents Winning Percentage and Goal Differential up to 8); one on Strenght of Schedule calculation (OWP and OOWP); a Head to Head disclaimer (when an unranked opponent beats a ranked opponent in any sport, that unranked opponent doesn't automatically go ahead of the ranked opponent); and one about a team's Record (winning percentage) in relation to schedule strength.

It appears to me that Strength of Schedule is much more important than actually winning games in their algorithm, though - and that is a major flaw. There is a team in the 2024 top 60 that went 0-9 in events tracked by USCL this summer with a -87 goal differential. I saw this team play this summer, and they wouldn't beat the 91 LI 2024 B team, but because all of their lopsided losses were against good teams, they are ranked. At some point, they've got to make results matter more if they rankings are going to be taken as a serious barometer of relative strength.

My son plays for a team which has played Hawks, True National, Crabs, Thunder LB3, Sweetlax FL, Edge, Big 4 HHH, API Diamondbacks, Carolina Miners, West Coast Starz, Laxachusetts, Leading Edge and a number of other "top 100" 2024 teams in the last calendar year (along with the Team 91 LI 2024 B team), and I will say that when you get outside of the top 20, or so, there isn't much separating the number 21 team from the number 70 team...for the most part. My son's team has taken lumps from teams barely in the top 50 and handled a top 25 team...

If you care about the rankings at all, you have to take them for what they are...a somewhat flawed measure of approximate relative strength...nothing more.

For the 2024's, I look at them in tiers...

the top 25 teams are all strong programs that can compete with any team on any weekend and will likely thump anyone outside of the top 25 with some regularity (you could probably make an argument that the top 8 to 10 is a separate tier on its own) - all of these teams are legit AA caliber teams

26 through 75 are all really strong teams that are likely to play good, competitive games against each other, will occasionally knock off a top 25 team, but more often will get beat handily by those teams...this tier is a mix of low AA caliber teams and high A caliber teams

76 - 100 are teams that are good, solid regional programs that will occasionally play a competitive game against a top 75 team, but really only make the rankings because they play in some high-level events where they get a SOS boost for this ranking system

Last thing...the team that went 0-9 this summer posted their USCL rankings to their Instagram page as a way to puff up their program...it took everything I had in my power not to respond and say "but your team didn't win a single game all summer"

...now continue with your Madlax Cheaters vs. Wolfpack Up and Leave debate...I've got plenty of popcorn

You hit the nail on the head. Many complaints have merit (esp about conflict of interest) but that site fills a vacuum. There's no need to completely bash it unless you can create a better mouse trap. I believe they are open to ideas on how to improve it and I hope they are reading your post which is by far the best post in a long time. We need you to stop lurking and mix it up in the octagon once in a while so you can get your fair share of head bashing. Well done.

Serious question, would Taz beat Madlax this year? Answer honestly (NVM all the holdback argument). Better yet, if Taz plays Madlax 10 times, what would be the result?

They have not one anything in years and ending at the WSYL left a bad taste in their mouths.

Its crazy to hear what these clubs are charging per year per person. Even if it is an A B or C team. 3700 or so and only going up. Its a shame that these clubs have replaced town as the only option in many ways.i know as parents and as a consumer you have the choice but the amount to pay to play is ridiculous and only will go up. Feel bad with families with multiple kids. I remember like only 6 yrs ago it was only 1500

good idea but bad data or something. Need to put more emphasis on head to head in my opinion. And if not enough data on a team dont rank them that is better than putting them way down where they shouldnt be. They should count all tournaments not sure why they do not. They left out some really big tournaments. My son's team beat 8 teams ahead of them......a top 5 team they went 2 and 2 with and are in the 30s somehow. Could be really cool though if they get it more accurate, but need to count all tournaments for that I think.

I see what you mean. Just looked at the Team Results and one team only have 6 games in the database while the majority are in the 15-25 range. At the very least, they should use the same # of games. Hope they improve it.

Well done.

good idea but bad data or something.

All of #WolfPackUpAndLeave’s games are listed. 91 hoax.

I know that at least 6+ of their very best players have gone to Taz and WP. Likely there are more than that. This team will struggle to win any games this year. Too bad. They were a solid team. Taz and WP will benefit handsomely, however. Taz lost no one and added some good ones. They were “good” last year. They will be “very good” this year. Even more talent for WP. Good luck to the coaches trying to keep them all happy with playing time.

the "very best" from a B+ to A level team means very little. i think you need to slow down with the superlatives. i've seen that team play this past season and to say the other teams with 'benefit handsomely' from them is a bit of a stretch. one can argue that they wouldn't improve the two teams who were already very good. that igloo team seem to be left with scraps and now a B team, and if what youre saying is true, we can expect them to play in lower brackets. so igloo will just sit here and take it to the chin?

I’m going to respond to your post because seems like these Psycho parents just want to talk about club teams and who is better. I agree the prices are insane for a sport there no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow . Prime example Rob Pannell and Marcus Stroman, 2 kids played the sport there whole life 1 contract millions and millions and the other hardly anyone watches and the stands are empty .... wake up stop paying these crazy prices and in Maryland Lax club prices are half what Li pays .

Igloo is in trouble this year and they will go into hiding. They have two b teams for this upcoming season. Taz added talent and didn’t cut anyone so what are they carrying 30 on roster ? Wolfpack’s still very strong

Just like iPhones and Adroid, brand matters most for some. Imagine a scenario where dads working for a hedge fund chatting about what clubs their kids play for.. details are conveniently left out.

Wolfpack had a great run congrats that year is done. just looking forward to this season and found it interesting how bad igloo is gonna be this upcoming year. Midfielders all gone and and attack as well and lost their poles and goalie. Will they enter b tourneys with frostbite ?

Yup. I agree. New year, new players. A complete do-over. However, sounds like Pack will be in very good shape again this year, and Taz should be far stronger as well, with their new Igloo midi's. Can Express compete with either team? Anybody else on LI feeling good enough about their new acquisitions to throw them into that conversation?

Most of us have been on this thread a very long time. The conversation hasn’t changed since we started. Ninety percent of the posts are about WP, Taz and Express. In that order. This is Long Island, the undisputed hot bed of all hot beds for lacrosse. How is it that there still aren’t any teams in that conversation, even after all these years? There are only 60 kids on the Island with top talent? I don’t get it. There should be plenty of AA teams on the Island. Can’t really compare to MD teams, since they combine the grade ahead (holdbacks) with any given grade, and their on age kids are already up to 5 months older due to their cut off dates, but still... Long Island IS lacrosse. There really should be more “better” teams, right? Would appreciate different perspectives on this.

Are you kidding me? Rabil is promoting staged fighting and ball drop FO's during PLL games like hockey. You don't think that's cool?

There are a ton of B teams on LI who would be A teams in any other state. However, the B teams are disrespected by the holier than thou LI parents, and especially the club owners.

B players' parents' money is just as green as A's. If club owners and parents were smart about it, they would ensure that their tournament brackets are level-appropriate to get competitive games where B players can enjoy playing time and improve. The problem comes down to egos of said club owners and parents. I can't count how many brackets I've seen where teams have no business being in.

Unfortunately it sounds like that gap may widen even further this year, with all of the top Igloo players going to either WP or Taz (and presumably Express). Would have made it a little more interesting had they gone to other teams. So who will be at the top of the next tier? True Blue?

There are only 60 kids on the Island with top talent? I don’t get it. There should be plenty of AA teams on the Island. Can’t really compare to MD teams, since they combine the grade ahead (holdbacks) with any given grade, and their on age kids are already up to 5 months older due to their cut off dates, but still... Long Island IS lacrosse. There really should be more “better” teams, right? Would appreciate different perspectives on this.

There are a ton of B teams on LI who would be A teams in any other state. However, the B teams are disrespected by the holier than thou LI parents, and especially the club owners.

There are three teams, and then the drop off to the next team, is... off a cliff. Use to be that Igloo was there. But now they won't be in any conversations either. It's been like this since the beginning. Every year, people post on here, "teams are catching up." Well I haven't seen it yet.

.

Unfortunately it sounds like that gap may widen even further this year, with all of the top Igloo players going to either WP or Taz (and presumably Express). Would have made it a little more interesting had they gone to other teams. So who will be at the top of the next tier? True Blue?

Heard True Blue lost some of their good players as well. So we will just have to wait and see!!

I heard True blue trimmed the fat

Now that’s funny! I find it extremely humorous how your so fast to point out the short guy! I’m not sure where your little superstar plays lacrosse or if he even steps on the field but I just hope your satisfied rooting on the little johnnys on the field as your little boy is making sure the water is nice and cold for the real players! Another dense lacrosse dad paying in lnto the system.

Too many teams and owners focused more on making money than making lacrosse players. The owners in their quest to capitalize don’t have the best coaches or training. Those coaches are just looking to win games to make it seem like they’re better then they are. A lot of kids that make up these teams are not club lax caliber players. Parents egos play a roll in wanting to brag that their kids are on the best team, even if they are the last kid on the roster. If you took the best 5-7 kids from the “B” teams and the worst 5-7 kids from the “AA” teams you could have about 8-10 competitive teams. Put some coaches in there that will make kids better and owners more committed to lacrosse and the players it may not be so top heavy.

I don't disagree. The business of youth sports is just that, a business. The first priority will always be "business" with the "sport" part a distant second. If the "business" were taken out of the equation, no doubt everything would be far different. Of curse, the extreme example of how bad this "business" can be, is with teams like Madlax, where quite literally it's all about the mighty dollar... the quintessential failure of the business model in youth sports. We, here on Long Island, are very fortunate that we live here and not in the MD area. Very few on-age athlete's get any opportunities at all, on AA caliber teams, due to their heavy dependence on holdbacks... a total epidemic problem down there. So while it's by no means perfect here, rest assured it could be far, far worse.

True Blue kids were at all of the try outs. Typical scenario. Better B team kids trying to get on an A team. Don't know where any landed, though.

At the 2024 level, I don't think they have won a tournament in years. Or maybe ever. Apparently the parents just got sick of having a good team and never winning anything. I don't think they fared too well at the WSYL either. Blaming the coach, obviously. They are probably right. The team was good. Should have done better.

Sounds like the Madlax troll at it again. Express has a good team. Wolfpack get's the nod as top team on the island, obviously, but Taz will be better than last year and Express is certainly no slouch. Should be interesting.

He has been on that 2024 for years, and played up this year with dC dogs in HOCO and came back down in the summer. I know because we’ve played that team for years. The bigger difference makers were very big 0 and the faceoff guy. Made a huge difference for them (and yes there were other DC dogs helmets out there (meaning 2023s) but those players were the key to their success. Most of the team other than those two looked the same to me.

Please stop naming kids in any of these forums. You wouldn't like it if someone singles out your boy.

Contrary to Popular belief in MD, playing “on age” is technically not playing “up”. Difficult concept, I know.

Seniority???? It was the 2024 team. They mentioned the new stud on the team why didn’t they mention him. Because they are gutless cheaters and didn’t want to get caught. This proves they bring in older 2023’s who play down or kids who aren’t even rostered on their normal 2024 team to play in these big tournaments. By the way MD parents I’m sure little Chad/Brad loved getting his picture taken with that championship t-shirt on but how did he feel when ringers were brought in and took his field time away to win this past summer?

You know, this practice is common place with developmental type teams, or teams that have a hard time getting enough kids to field a team, just struggling to stay afloat. But I must say, I'm not aware of any elite teams that do this, besides Madlax of course, where it is a very well known practice. It's very hard to keep this sort of thing a secret, since many of our kids are friends via social media. The Madlax kids actually brag about it to my kid. Based on this organizations well earned reputation, it really should not surprise anyone.

Thank you for the insightful commentary, cheater holdback parent from Madlax. Dude, how bad your life must be to troll this LI thread day and night, for several years now. Pathetic human trash. You are the quintessential Madlax cheater parent, a true representation of the Madlax core values. Real piece of garbage.

Ok new question, let's change it up some. Instead of talking about the holdbacks - a number of our best players in 2024 play up. I'm talking Sept 2005 and younger playing on 23 Teams (not your top 5 teams but top 20 teams). Now that 2023 are considered HS - Do they stay with 2023 or start playing with their class?

I am thinking 1 more summer with 23 and then do HS with their actual class

Thoughts?

I'm in the same boat. What you say makes sense. The question is, is anyone actually looking at Freshman or are the college coaches mainly concentrating on Sophomores? I would think it was Sophomores but I don't really know. I also had a director mention to me that it might be a problem when the team starts entering showcases but he wasn't sure. He said we'll figure it out when we get to that point.

3 and 22 left? Yeah right. Nobody would leave a team like that.

a team that leaves when they lose. I surely would not even let my kid try out for a team like that. If those 2 kids left that team would drop the first a cliff.

I'm agree 100% #WolfPackUpAndLeave

Coming from a Madlax holdback parent, your words come up kinda empty, don’t you think? Question. Are you a parent of a holdback or one of the Madlax double holdbacks? Or maybe you are the parent of one of the 2023 guest players from the DC Dogs? Your kid will be driving this year, right? How exciting. Or maybe you’re a holdback parent from one of the other DC 2023 teams that on occasion plays for the “2024” (ha ha ha!) Madlax “pick up” team? I’m guessing you are none of these things. You don’t even have any kids do you? Thinking you’re just your everyday, run of the mill sicko troll. I nailed it, right?

I think we can stop now with the complaining regarding the holdback issue. most 2024 elite players will either be playing jv or varsity this year which would translate to playing against older and bigger kids. deal with it. as far as the whole Wolfpack up and leave, u made your bed now sleep in it.

If one is discussing JV or Varsity, the holdback issue is diminished, but not irrelevant. But this is a grade based forum, where holdbacks are still trying to steal glory. Holdbacks are a terrible part of lacrosse.

Get off the LI thread Madlax holdback creep. We get it. Your team is 100% holdbacks, double holdbacks and guest holdbacks. Congrats on winning a few meaningless 7th grade lacrosse games against 12/13 year olds with a team of 14/15 year olds. You must be one very proud parent. Hey. What ever it takes to get a new T-shirt, right?

You think so Madlax holdback troll? So after 7 years of cheating by playing against legit on age teams, with kids 1 to 2 years older than the teams you played, now you think it’s finally not cheating, when Madlax plays with confirmed 2023 players, in a 2024 bracket? It’s grade base lacrosse, dummy. Still cheating, no matter how much you wish it were ok to cheat. Yup. You’re still the same old low life piece of garbage that you’ve always been. Madlax was cheating 7 years ago, they are cheating now and they will be cheating 4 years from now. Because cheating and corruption is the Madlax culture. It’s who they are, to the core and who the families are that they attract. What’s the Madlax plan for this year. Puberty is here for a lot of kids now. The on age kids are catching up to the holdbacks size. Another year or so and most kids will have caught up to and many surpass your holdbacks. Then what cheater daddy??

my kid will be playing college lax and you will still be complaining about holdbacks and how its cheating. college coaches could care less about age. your lil skilled boys went as far as they were gonna go. now take a seat and let the big boys take over. keep crying and Wolfpack up and go home hahahahahahahaha

They are a travel team that only plays in C level & Town Tournaments.

Very good is a relative term.

It really is enough already. Most of you people are just mad that your kids aren't on the top 2/3 teams and want to lash out because you have no other recourse. To tell you the truth, the kids do not care 1 bit. My son has many friends on those teams and he is happy they do well. He plays on a good team and works his butt off to get better. This is 13 yr old lax get a grip, most of the kids haven't even hit puberty yet. To make fun of teams that aren't Top 3 in the whole in country is a joke and says a whole lot more about the haters on here then anything else.

Wow! I haven't been on this site for a while. Its nice to see that nothing has changed.

Facts:

Prior to the NLF the WP boys/coaches/families were up the east coast and across to the west coast for 7 consecutive weeks. The parents requested to not enter this final tournament because everyone was fried. The 91 organization felt that it was necessary to participate. So, we packed up for the 8th consecutive weekend. It was 100 degrees with the humidity, we were missing 2 players, and one goalie was sick as a dog. The boys and families were spread over 10 different hotels, some over an hour away. So, when the NLF tournament directors offered the teams that did not make it to the finals the opportunity to leave due to the extreme heat, the coaches polled the parents and we gladly accepted the offer. Most parents brought the boys and their siblings, (who were troopers this summer) to a lake. Besides for the boys winning the WSYL, by far probably the best memory of the summer.

Now for the team that stayed to play the WP that day, that was terrible. I will say that there was not one parent or coach that did not feel awful about that when we found out. However, that was the responsibility of the tournament directors to communicate that to the coaches of that team not the WP. If it make anyone feel better, I think I speak for everyone when I offer my sincerest apologies.

I am aware that this was a waste of time- but at least I feel better... It is well known that people will always attempt to knock those that are successful. Those boys, families, and COACHES sacrificed an enormous amount this summer, so continue to bash them all you want. But, if you are looking for facts, THOSE ARE THE FACTS. Those trash talking and making comments about how you would "never even allow your child to tryout for that team"... you're loss. I could not be happier with the coaches, families and friends that he has been surrounded by for the past 6 years. He has made life-long friends that come from amazing families. Families that have been there for each other through thick and thin. Can anyone else say that? My experience with other teams is that there is an awful lot of jealousy and back stabbing. The vile things I have come across during my years on the sideline... that doesn't happen on WP. The coaches will send you packing. Finally, for the TOOLS that continue to write #packupandleave... you remind me of a 4 year old that made someone laugh so you continue to post the same garbage over and over and over. It is old. Don't be that guy...no one likes "that guy". Get a job. For the rest of the lacrosse community good luck this season.

Don’t sweat it. The same dense comment is only coming from one person, the same troll from Madlax. Nobody else cares.

WHO CARES!, NO ONE CARES, it's 13 year old lacrosse. Next time you go to 7/11 for a cup of coffee tell your WSYL story to the guy behind the counter, you will still have to pay $$ for that cup of coffee. It means absolutely NOTHING! Take your personal memories of the summer, place them in a cigar box and place the box in you "keep sake draw". Next year at this time, you will understand what I'm saying.

Same Madlax troll, trolling the LI thread, day and night, 24/7. His obsession with Wolfpack is all consuming. A real sick-o. Ignore him like the folks on the Maryland thread. He will eventually go else where to seek attention.

Just Wolfpack up and go home. Make up whatever excuse you want. Talk about being the best team in the world and then you can't even make the top 8 of the final tournament of the summer. Don't you think every other team played for 7 consecutive weeks, had to deal with the same heat and humidity, stayed in hotels an hour away, and were missing players because they were sick, go to summer camp or had family vacations? THOSE ARE THE FACTS, and they were the same for every other team in the tournament. The Wolfpack made their own call, and now they have to live with it. It really stinks....but everybody knows who you guys are. Just ask the parents from the 2023 Team 91 team who were completely embarrassed for the entire organization.

Totally agree. They are the opposite of what youth sports are all about.

Facts:

Wolfpack is mostly white trash suffolk and paycheck to paycheck families. Come sept 1 junior year most will be disappointed because they can't afford the PG year required to get a spot at the top schools. Alternative is Stony Brook or Hofstra at best. Unfortunately this ends up with junior back at home maybe selling insurance or real estate instead of mowing lawns. I guess that is an upgrade for most.Very few of these boys ever get off the island.

Yeah. Always nice to be invited though, huh? Same ole same ole. Going on 7 years now. The haters are the losers in life, always criticizing people for having what they think they deserve, but can’t have. Yeah I get it. Pure jealousy. But when adults do it to kids since they were 7 years old, that’s going to a whole different level. Congrats “white trash” Madlax parent.

Not familiar with the term “invite”? Let me give you some examples of sentences with the term “Invite” that you will surely help you to understand. “Invite” two 2023 DCDogs holdback players to play with the 2024 Madlax team of holdbacks. “Invite” 2023 players from the 2023 Madlax team to play in the NLF Amherst games. “Invite” 2023 DC Dog player to be a part of the regular 2024 Madlax holdback squad. Does that help?

You guys act like this is pro free agency. Igloo built those players and they left. It’s a good program and they will build new players to replace them. That’s what youth lax is about. A lot of these kids are just hitting adulthood. Chill with you Lebron mentality.

Let's see what Taz with their newly infused ex Igloo studs can do in their own tourney on Columbus Day. They better win it by a landslide with all their Lebron trash talk and chest pounding. So sad.

And this is the problem with the constant bragging by Taz and others. Just saw Legacy and Igloo are going to the new fangled "Club Lacrosse Nationals" tourney in FL! They're so clueless about the beating they're about to take from not one but TWO! Madlax teams. Stay in the island and take your beatings there from 91 and maybe save a few bucks and a terrible plane ride home.

At least he has something to brag about. Taz is a world champion finalist. I'm sure he has logged quite a few hours with his son, playing in the backyard or even coaching. He's proud of his son's accomplishments, and his contribution to that process. If that includes a little bragging about his kid every now and then, he has earned that right. You on the other hand are just a troll, whose only contribution is criticizing the successful. Great job dad. Your family should be proud. Get off the computer and go and have a catch with your kid, so at least you can aspire to be proud of something and possibly even brag about your kid someday.

Hey obnoxious Madlax holdback parent. Just wanted to give you a heads up. The Pack will be in town on Thursday for the visit to the White House. Wondering if you could gather up some of the Madlax holdback parents, and run us back to the airport after our Trump visit Not sure how long we'll be, since I expect quite the spectacle when the President gives our (100% on age) boys his official congratulations speech for being World Champions. It's going to be on CNN and all of the news networks so not sure how long the whole visit will take, but if you guys could just wait outside the White House for us, that would be great. Maybe have some celebratory bubbly on ice too... that would be a nice touch. Bring some sharpies. The boys may have a few leftover head shots for you. Great Christmas gift for your double holdback!

My bad. I didn't realize your team is on the same private jet to DC with 91 to meet the prez. Show some class LI braggarts.

Huh? Are you seriously saying that placing second is something to brag about?? I bet you've kept all those participation trophies handed out to everyone in a glass case in your bed room. What you are is a clown. Go meet the president and brag more about it here.

You’re right. It is something to be proud of. Of the very top 13 year old teams anywhere, our boys earned the #2 spot, over every other team, to include your kids very sorry team. darn right it’s something to be proud of! How did your kids team do? Didn’t even qualify?? Not surprised, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, obviously. Criticize the ultra-successful, to make yourself feel like less of an anonymous lost. Yeah. I know your kind all too well. And it ain’t going to get any easier for you and your boy. Taz has reloaded big time! Your in for another very long year. Come get some!

Hey WWE Taz dopey. You're seriously using the word "ultra-successful"?? are you kidding? You haven't won any tournaments. You get smoked by 91 all the time. That's your problem. You can say "good", but ultra-successful? puh leez! I'll be monitoring your first tournament in the fall. I'll be sure to come back here and have this conversation again. You need a little serving of humble pie. And take it easy on your kid on your flight back home from FL. Remember it's not on him. It's on you.

I call BS. Inside Lacrosse doesn't have Taz having the #2 spot. I would double check your facts.

If I'm guessing correctly, you're the Taz dad who tries coaching from the sidelines who screams at the kids & officials like a lunatic. Yeah... I'm gonna disclose information to you - that's a great idea.

If the Pack is in town on Thursday, I'm pretty certain that some Madlax parents would be more than happy to drive you to/from the airport. But here's the quid pro quo...bring your sticks and gear and play them. Heard that the Pack have already turned that offer down once so far this fall. Why don't you mention the USClub Lax ranking to the President and highlight the fact that the Pack lost two games this summer. World champions didn't even make the final eight in their last tournament of the summer. Too hot....

Why have the parents drive some of the kids have their Driver permit by now.

Please make sure the bubbly is the good stuff. Thinking Dom should work for most of us. How about you have your 2024’s (wink, wink) drive us! They’d surely get a big kick out of driving the WORLD CHAMPIONS to and from the White House to meet with the President! Something they could tell their grand kids about someday!

So funny, though. Still can’t get over the age difference of our boys. I mean, your boys are of driving age and a bunch of ours are still 12... and not a single one CHAMPS are older than 13! Strange that they play against each other given the age difference. Still can’t figure that one out. I digress. Thank your young “men” for the lift!

Not a 91 parent, but for the life of me, I don’t understand why this Madlax parent is so obsessed with Wolfpack, or any Long Island team for that matter. If I were coach of that team, I would aspire to play teams that were at least the same age as mine. Can’t win playing down a year and a half to two years. If I win, I’m suppose to win. If I lose, then that’s obviously not good either. It’s a lose/lose for Madlax. I mean, if I can’t beat teams with kids that are the same age as mine, I have nothing to brag about. Maybe someone can explain the logic behind bragging about aspiring to beat far younger teams.

How old are the MadLax kids? (serious question)

From what I saw, most are shaving before school now.

Are you referring to the Madlax pay to play players or 2023 players they invite from other teams for certain tournaments, who don’t pay and really aren’t a part of the team? Or are you referring to the kids they use from their 2023 Madlax team, who aren't on the team either?

If you think that the sheer number of Maryland holdbacks is annoying, dishonest, corrupt, etc, you aren't alone. Make no mistake, when your kid's LI team plays a team from MD, the kids he is playing against are at least a year older than him, and most likely more than that. 70% to 80% of every single team from Maryland are holdbacks, as confirmed over and over again by actual parents from Maryland. This means that every kid that touches the field in a close game is a holdback. But if you are annoyed, it's nothing compared to the MD parents of on age players. There is simply no room for any opportunities on competitive teams for on age kids, since all positions are taken by kids that should be a grade higher. As a result, the honest on age kids are totally getting the shaft. So, yeah it's annoying playing against teams that have a dirty little secret that they don;t want you to know about, but that's nothing compared to what these MD teams are doing to their own youth and the sport at large. Completely reprehensible. See the below quote from a Maryland parent, that was copy and pasted from the MD thread on BOTC...

[/quote] Most of our kids start school later than most. So they are already 1 year ahead. So when we re -class the kids in 6th , 7th and 8th grade. most of the boys are already 1 1/2 to 2 years older than the other states. Yes the rules are based on grade but the kids are much older than most..Exactly the case in number 22.. almost 15 years old.

Funny....Madlax even asked your WP coach for a scrimmage in the fall since we didn’t get a chance to hookup at NLF and he politely declined the offer. Amazingly he didn’t reach out to have that scrimmage since you’re all going to be in town. I know, I know, too much travel for some of your precious sons and it may still be above 80 degrees and dang it, they just might be too tired, again. I’m sure that’s why they didn’t reach out...lol! What a joke...enough said.
