Excellent coaches with a strong core. Big pickup for 91. Good luck to them both.

Bonn is arguably the best HS coach in the tri-state region . Sullivan is a great coach and as passionate as anyone you will meet. My son played for them, but is no longer in club. If he were, it would be for these guys only. Good luck to them with 91. 91 is better for having them.

How have the tryouts been? My son is sidelined and is planning on sticking with his team, so I feel like I'm out of the loop this year.

From what I have heard, Bonn will be joining the coaching staff with two of the current three coaches. The third Ambush Coach may or may not be coming back. Don’t know if the other Outlaw coach wil join the staff.

Good for them. Ambush is a good team. Hovering on the cusp of being very good. I hope this puts them over the top.

Sounds like the Rebels picked up the best Outlaw players and a really good lefty attack from FL$. Not sure if they can run with Blaze and Black Ice, but with a new coach, they should be a much better team than Outlaws Select was.

Some complaints about lack of playing time, and a few who thought they were too good for Ambush, and should be on Blaze. They are probably gone.

If your son is playing football, is he skipping the fall showcases and tournaments, or are you going to try and do both?

Is there a master list of upcoming showcases for each individual college? I was told by many with experience to pick the 5 colleges your son wants to go to and get to their prospect days. It is a much better way than trying to get exposure at a showcase. I have been going to the pages of the schools, but they only have the current prospect dates, not the ones coming up over the winter or in the summer. Thanks in advance.

We made a list of every college my son was interested in and then went to their website and they should have the prospect day info on the lacrosse page

Doing the same thing, but some don't have their January ones up yet, and others do. Last year we booked events, and then others came out that we would have rather have been at. Don't want to make that mistake again.

91 wouldn't put two teams in the same bracket. There are 10 new players on the team, so nobody knows how the team will be until they play. Who quit on their team? Outlaws is a mess, so two good coaches left and brought the kids with them. Let's see how they do before shooting off your mouth you former Ambush parents.

The Ambush bashing begins. More former parents, so I guess there will be more bashing. SMH

“Elite 80” is a waste of time and just a money grab. These coaches are being paid to be there. They know it is not selective. To be recruited, you need to prove yourself against the actual top competition. Hilarious to see people paying big money and thinking it matters! If you are a for real good player, you shouldn’t need to pay to be seen!

Everything in lax costs money. From what I saw at Cantiague today, the majority of players and parents were happy with the event.

This is a new team with new coaches. Ambush now has 10 new players on the team, and they need to fit in. It is only the fall, and yes, they are in the AA in FLG next week, but also will be missing a bunch of players who are in the football playoffs. The spring is when we can see what this team can do.

They did well on Saturday, and lost half the team on Sunday. Fall ball means nothing.

It seems every year Ambush has 10 new players. A better formula may be to develop the talent that you have. Continuity goes a long way.
The players on this team have always been solid
Maybe not the early bloomers or the super talented but good players nonetheless. Seems like the coaches are always looking for the next best thing. Those kids are already set with their teams.

Some good points there. The new kids are more from the merger with Bonn's team, and some kids "moved up" to Blaze or Rebels, or other clubs, so there is a natural turnover for a second tier team, as there is with most teams. The few kids that weren't invited back were more from a attitude problem than a talent issue. The core of the team is still there, and there will be some adjustments that need to be made by the spring if the team wants to play at a higher level. They will never be a Blaze or Black Ice, but with the new additions, they may have jumper over some of the other top tier teams from LI. Now can they compete at the AA level without the holdbacks that are on the AA teams is the real question.

Did those attitude problems stem from the favoritism by the coaches towards their kids and their friends? If so then it seems like they just didn't go with the status quo. After merging 10 players from a similar team there may be some growing pains as players who are used to having key roles may not be happy with diminished playing time. That goes for kids from both teams and the coaches as well.

The attitudes were probably from the same people coming on here and bashing the Team because their kids don't get playing time, or think that they are too good for a "b" team. The few kids who didn't come back just didn't progress with the rest of the team, the solid core is the same, and they added on a much needed second middie line and a second goalie. There are way too many poles now, and yes, there is going to be some growing pains as the existing Ambush parents were heard in DE complaining that the new coaches had too much sway in what was going on, and some of the core players were taking a backseat to some of the new players. Typical for Fall ball when new players are added, and just intensified because of the new dynamics. This move has made them a true A team, but still short of being a AA team. We will see what happens, but most importantly at this age is what kind of colleges will be looking at this team. I think Bonn adds some more credibility to the team and they may get some better looks now.

Is Black Ice still the best team at this age group? Curious to hear. I've got a 2023 and am thinking about how things change over the years or if they generally stay the same. Did the Md teams all pass Igloo b/c they're loaded with holdbacks? Did any of the LI teams catch up? Did Black Ice lose any key players over time or did the core stay together?

Ask Mr Alexander. He knows about his kids team.

It is really a toss up between a few good teams. Many of the out of state teams have older kids just because of their school rules to begin with, and then add the double hold backs to the list. Blaze has a few "reclassed" Crush players who didn't get offers early, so they are a different team, as I'm sure is the same for Black Ice. You do start to see more parity at this grade level as the early bloomers start to fade and the late bloomers start to dominate. Plus there are players who play Varsity in 9th and 10th grade that start to leapfrog some of the better players.

There are NO crush players playing on our Blaze team. This is the age where parity takes place as kids grow and sometimes kids don't show Many more coaches on sidelines and therefore the sidelines should finally quiet down
