You only receive points towards nationals if you are playing in the A bracket.
THorn beat Monster Black 10-3 and 7-2 this weekend. Monster Black is a very good team; that tied MD United and M&D black and crushed Skywalkers this summer and also beat TG Black 12-5 (qualify under beatdown??) last summer. Yes TG paid them back a few weeks ago.
Thorn is 3-0 vs Monster Black this summer.
The reason some folks esp MD folks want to discredit the Nationals is because they are age based and this group (2023) are competing in the U-13 age group. Whether you like or not most players on Hero's Green and M&D black are 14 before the end of the summer. The only team that went from MD last summer was Elite lacrosse and they didnt even make the semis.
The whole hold back BS is another topic but it's one that has gotten ridiculous. Lacrosse should be like hockey and soccer; birth year/
Good luck girls

Thorn is winless vs Igloo.

Igloo did beat Thorn and NXT in the first tourney of summer, but since then they won National Draw ( a tournament that was competitive 5 years ago).
Igloo may not have lost many games this summer, but since they beat thorn, thorn has beat monster 3x, skywalkers, tlc red, and many other solid teams while Igloo has relaxed on the beach. Igloo is a very talented team, but I think right now Thorn would be a slight favorite.
Thorn
Igloo
TG Black
Legacy
Jesters
Did empire beat icon and lady ducks?? ok maybe they snuck in the top 10

?? TG has a better overall record than both Thorn and Igloo. Has beet both those teams in their most recent contests. Is this ranking? Because there is absolutely no justification for the order. Now I do believe that Thorn, Igloo, and TG are all very close in talent, but as of now it would have to be:
TG
Igloo
YJ Thorn
YJ Wright
Jesters
Legacy
Empire

Wright's team? Take them off the list not a good team

not true at all, sounds like someone who was cut from the team... ...the above is correct. Thorns team looks amazing they will beat TG and Igloo...Wright is in the middle for sure. They put up a good fight with good competition.

Let's wait to start bragging about how amazing you are until you beat some top competition. Monsters took a step back this year, so easy there!

YJ needs worry about beating...
TG
Igloo
M&D
Hero’s
NXT
Before ranking themselves anywhere. Right now they are last among the 6 teams with the most losses in head to head. Do they even have a win against this tier of teams?

Great info. Thank you. Can you please clarify… If only playing in the a bracket gets the points in sanctioned tournaments… Why are many of the B teams on the list with points… I know for sure they are not playing in a brackets for example TG purple….

Thorns team did look amazing against Westchester Elite, Garden State and Metro. There is more competition at the Lax Blast. And another Dad coaching. Egads

The problem with this age group for the YJ is there are too many good options out there. In years past all the top girls flocked to YJ. Now you have the top girls spread out playing YJ, TG and Igloo. TG beat M&D, imagine playing M&D with an all star team of YJ,TG and Igloo players it would be no contest. In years past that is how it used to be not anymore. In this age group YJ only has 2 teams not many girls for this program. YJ B teams have always been a low A team not the case here they have trouble competing with other teams B teams. As long as there are good options out there this age group will be never be dominant.

TG is 1-1 vs Monster Black
TG is 1-2 vs TLC Red (the one win was in a shortened playoff game)

Thorn is 3-0 vs Monster Black
Thorn beat TLC Red (I know TLC Red is a low A team that even LI B teams like Empire beat I believe) but we beat them 10-1

Hmm.... Thorns team had a disappointing seasons n so far. Gotta love your creative statistics though. No body cares about Monsters or TLC. I’d love to hear about it when you beat Igloo, TG, M&D, or Heros. Until then can you please pipe down!

TG only played Monster 1x and TLC 2x this year and if you are going back to
last year YJ are 0-1 vs TG, 0-3 vs Igloo, 0-5 vs Igloo the last 3 years.
YJ 0-1 vs Hero's
1-1 vs Skywalkers
0-2 vs NXT

Congrats on your victories over Monster maybe next week you can be 4-0 vs them.

Your bracket does not matter. You just have to participate in a US Lacrosse Sanctioned National Qualifying tournament. If you win, you get points.

So any team can play in a lower tiered bracket and stack up the wins and points. Then make nationals over a better team the plays in all A brackets against better teams? Didn’t seem fair. Why would US Lacrosse allow that ? So the B teams can make it over A teams because they play easier competition?

When did TG beat TLC besides the shortened game??/
TG lost to TLC last summer and this summer

We cant compare scores....I get it, if A beats B and B beats C, that doesnt mean A beats C.
Empire has won 1.5 games this summer. they beat tlc red 7-6 and hero's white in a short playoff game where they were down 3-0, and they want to think they are a low A team.
Here is a fact for Empire fans,,,,,, if this was Vegas, here would be the lines
Thorn -7.5 goals over Empire
TG Black -8 goals over Empire
Igloo -10.5 goals over Empire, and I give them the biggest spread not because they are the best but because the bad blood, and I heard they beat Empire 33-5 in indoor this winter

Bottomline is THorn, Igloo, TG.....and I agree Empire needs to stop playing Icon and Bandits and Lady Ducks.......enter A at hofstra

TLC Red is the lone quality win that Empire has
Empire beat Blue Devils, Bandits, HOS, DWI, TLC, and GFY so until you beat a couple quality teams you guys will be known as the best C team on Long Island

Monster Black NOT an A team??????
Beat Legacy 14-6
Beat TLC Red 14-4
Skywalkers 11-4
Stars Blue 7-6
THOSE ARE 4 A caliber teams

Beats YJB Wright 7-1 (CR is embarrassed of that team)

Monster Black solid A team and always enters top division.

Don't let facts get in the way of your selective stats TG beat TLC 14-6, 9-4 at Summer Classic.

And YJ Thorm beat HOS 9-4 and Empire beat them
13-2.. bc coach didn’t allow more. Stop calling Empire a B team .

Empire needs to be in an A bracket of a tournament until then they are a B team

Whoever is the EMpire fan/parent/kid or spokesman, please tell me if you could come within 8 goals of YJ, TG or Igloo
And before you even answer can you come within 4 goals of Jesters or Legacy??
I would mention YJ Wright but they cant even beat B teams this summer, at least Empire crushes those powerhouse C teams

TG beat TLC 2x at summer classic last summer.

Empire will have a chance to prove themselves in the Hofstra Tournament. TG, Igloo, Jesters and Legacy will all be there.

So the 'A" brackets at Hofstra is
Legacy
TG Black
Igloo
Jesters
Empire

Be a solid A brackets of some good matchups.... only teams that have seen each other this summer are Igloo/Jesters

Ya no it’s not.. But when I see things like put Empire back in the bathroom disparaging 12/13 girls who happen to be really good, I need to respond. So thanks and have a good day.

Talk the Talk Now Walk The Walk. Really!!!

You sound soooo Intelligent. They are 12 Year Old Girls who love the game. Unfortunately we have parents writing this nonsense like you trying to live out your childhood dreams through your Kid. You must have had a rough life as a kid. Maybe 1 day you’ll get help.

I know I know and now you’ll get all pissy and comeback with another anonymous quote on how much of a badass your kids team is or how stupid everyone else sounds except for you who should be looking in the mirror.

Top Guns, Igloo and Yellow Jackets are very good teams we get it. . Congratulations! Now please go hug your kids and enjoy them while their young because soon you will be wondering where time has gone.

Wow!!! Someone made some sense on here. And to so many others on this page its only 4 more years until Maryland, Duke, Syracuse etc. will be waiting at your door step with a letter offering a free ride. We all know it will happen for so many of you and are thrilled for your good fortune. That is the only reason you signed your daughters up in the first place isn't it.

Wright's team definitely needs help. They have some great girls on that team individually but as a team it is not working. They don't work together. No passing.

Look the girls play the games and God Bless them; it's the clowns that do the chatting/chirpin in here; guilty as charged here....so when the Bronx Tale reference said 'put empire in the bathroom' like Sonny said to coffeecake, it was a joke towards the parents.
Now that we got that covered, whether the Empire parents are right, wrong or delusional....one thing isnt debatable.....and that is they got the Empire name out there. They have played a joke schedule this summer but they have won those joke games and won convincingly
Hopefully we see them play the top teams at Hofstra
Does anyone know what towns the empire crew hails from?? assume lynbrook based since coach is varsity coach
Good Luck to the crew, the more good teams we have on the island the better...grow the game

If either the Jesters or Empire can run the table then the TG/Igloo loser in game 4 will be eliminated.....
Not sure why 3 teams (ct griz, elevate, leg) all have to play igloo and tg in pool play, but Jesters and Empire get to avoid both of them??? special request, or just maybe oversight, but either be nice to see TG/Igloo rd2 in finals?...obv unless someone else beats them
It's not a secret that of the 7 teams in that pool Igloo and TG are in a class by themselves. Why let a team advance without having to beat at least 1 of them??
