Not sure why you LI dads are hanging out on the MD board. I guess you can't resist taking swings at the best. Now that HoCo spring league has started, we don't really care about you guys. Got much better competition in our area.

How is a team that has never beaten the 91 Long Island team, better than the 91 Long Island team?? NEVER! How exactly is that possible, oh great ranker of 6th grade lacrosse teams??? Your PRECIOUS list just lost 100% of it's credibility, so maybe you should go back to ranking 6th grade baseball teams. Or chess teams. Or drama teams. Yeah, try a topic you know a little something about, because it aint lacrosse. And while you are at it, GET A LIFE!!

You people are seriously pathetic, ranking 6th grade lacrosse teams. Your life must absolutely stink, if this is what you do for kicks.

Apparently the LI guy doesn’t get the rankings above are for the upcoming HOCO league. And not sure which team he’s referencing anyway when he says they’ve never beaten the 91 Long Island team. Despite all the chatter out there Madlax beat LI 91 at Bullis handedly the first time they played each other and then again most recently in the finals at the big4HHH tourney this last summer.

Bethesda over Crabs 8-7 in OT.

Crabs are a different team this year. Strong all around. Their FOGO is phenomenal. Must have gone 17 for 18 today.

This 24 Elite division will create some great games to watch.

Madlax lost to Next Level, 7-6 in OT. Their reign is over. Other teams have caught up and even surpassing. This will be a very interesting spring.

2024 update: I stood between the games keeping an eye on both games. From what I saw, both games could have gone either way.

A rematch of last years end of the HOCO season game where Looneys beat the Hawks in a close game. Today it was the Hawks over the Looneys and the game could have gone either way. Hawks rallied back from a early 3 goal deficit. Looneys appeared to control the game early through the first half. Hawks made some adjustments and slowed down the Looneys BIG middies and came back late in the 4th quarter to win by one goal. Faceoff’s appeard to go in favor of the Hawks but not by a long shot. Both teams appear to be a run and gun style offense. Hawks have a couple solid dodgers and their D packed in real well playing solid in he 2nd half. Hats off to both teams. Both teams will pose a challenge for whoever they play against. Looneys over T91 and Mad Lax in the fall and they beat Hawks late in the HOCO season last year. Good Luck to both teams this year!

Bethesda over the Crabs in OT and again this game could have gone either way. Crabs dominated the faceoff’s, that Crabs faceoff kid is the real deal. If the crabs can minimize turnovers and realize there is a big difference in their two goalies (2nd half goalie was lights out better) they will be hard to beat. Bethesda’s goalie is the sole reason they survived late in this game stuffing about 3-4 one on one shots late in the 4th. Hats off to both teams. Crabs appear to be much improved over last years team. Crabs won over the Looneys 7-2 in the fall, beating them convincingly. Should be an interesting Spring and Summer if the proper adjustments are made on that Crabs team. The potential is certainly there. It has been said that Bethesda added players from last year’s Club Blue 2023 team and seems to be solid across the board and with that I expected a blow out today. Good luck to both teams this year!

On a side bar, it is early in the season and it is 6th grade LAX, but please Mr. Referees, get your stuff together. There were a lot of very bad calls. Calls went both ways in both games. Bad bad bad!

Happens all of the time. Elementary school team built around one player, bigger than everyone else. The teams dominate as a result, until Middle School, where all of the years of "giving the big kid the ball" comes back to bite them. A single dominant player no longer works, and during this overdependence on the "big kid", the rest of the team wasn't developed as they should. The Madlax decline will continue from here on out. It was inevitable.

Come on....Madlax hasn't played Next Level yet. But if you consider the play day against them 3 weeks ago as a harbinger of things to come, Madlax won something like 8-1. Oh, and I don't think the "big kid" even scored.

It’s already happening. I feel bad for the rest of the kids on that team whose development is now years behind the average player, who actually got opportunities the past four years.

I think they were supposed to play but both would have been missing kids for spring break so they decided to reschedule

So where did the score of 8-7 come from. Was that fake news? If so that is nuts please at least start with facts before we all start spitting out our own opinions..

8-7 is fake news. Madlax wanted to reschedule due to kids on spring break. Both teams agreed and will play make up game later in season. Look at the other divisions, Madlax rescheduled all their games.

Partially correct. Madlax didn’t have their big kid, so they requested the reschedule.

Madlax coaches are in an absolute panic about losing, as they watch their days coming to an end. They won’t play ANY games, unless they have 100% of their core players. The harsh reality is, it doesn’t matter.

For you dummies that are new to things with lax in the area, 25% of th Kids in the region are on spring break! Not to take anything away from an improving crabs team but Bethesda was missing 5 starters (and I’m not a Bethesda parent). Secondly, Madlax and Next level both have so many kids on spring break that neither club could field a team to play this past Sunday. And it does look like it will be a competitive HOCO season again just like it always is! It’s by far the best and most competitive league in the country at this age group. Having said that, Madlax destroyed Next level the other weekend with third line middies getting most of the runs. And whomever posted the previous entry was correct, the “big kid” didn’t have hardly any goals. While there’s no doubt he’s hands down the best player on the team and in the country at 24’s, the rest of that Madlax team is stacked! Just ask Brotherly love who went to shut the “big kid” down and everyone else on the starting lineup at middie and attack went off for 10 goals!

First of all , we know that most of those kids are on college spring break, so we do see the point. Secondly the big kid is not the best in the country at 24 . Not even second or third. Lastly , Madlax time is coming to an end . Everyone knows it. Ignorance is Bliss..

I don't think I'm a dummy and after three decades of coaching in this area, I'm certainly not new(and feel it, most days) but I do know this;

It's simple, you put 10 on the field, play the game or forfeit.

Secondly, if spring break is running so rampant through the DMV, how does every other team in the league field a team and play a game. It's about one guy whining because he is missing certain players and doesn't want to take a chance of losing a 6th grade lacrosse game. Sad commentary on the organizaton of the league.
