I would hate to be the guy at Parks and Rec who has to deal with coaches who are already trying to reschedule games in order to get their out of state players here for week one.

I hope that isn’t the case. Holding up a league because you decided to load your team with traveling players is BS. Play when your told or find another league.

Madlax wins a close game.
Hawks win big. (Remember last years opener. Hawks destroyed API. Better prepared)
DC Express big. Come on it’s API.
RR win in a close one.

I would add RM motivates his players with a free car wash for their cars they drive.

For Crabs, it will all depend on if the California, Texas, Florida and NY kids show up for HOCO games. Without those kids Crabs won't be competitive.

Have you seen their "offense" play? Defense and goal tending will win games for Team91MD again this year, assuming their offense can average over 6 points per game against the better teams.

RM takes a "big tent" approach to motivation. Feel sorry for the kids who played full price for their Crabs gear and won't log many minutes. The up side is their gear will fetch a higher price as only slightly used on Sideline Swap.

91 struggled last year in league play to score in the majority of their games. They did a little better in tournaments during the summer. Coaching and preparing though for a single game for a specific opponent is way different then a 3 or 5 game tournament where teams are randomly selected. (supposed to be randomly selected). To say also that he is the best offensive coach in league is a huge stretch. MM isn't the only ALL WORLD player who coaches in the league. There are former MLL coaches and players, former ALL Americans , college and world champions coaching these teams in this elite league. Remind you that he was a terrific player but in game coaching is not the same. Last year alone he lost his cool numerous times on the field when his offense was dominated by opposing defenses. Also witnessed him completely stop coaching his team after getting behind in games. There is a ton of great talent on every team and some of these games will come down to Coaching .

So no Koopers/Dukes team in the elite division?
Why is only the first week schedule up and no list of teams in the league?

There are 9 teams in the elite division. Koopers has a bye. Not sure why they haven't loaded the teams in the standings.

So much this^^^

The offense for Md91 was the weakness of that team. Not only in the spring, but also in the summer.

But I forgot, they have the self proclaimed "best attack in the nation".

Can we take a survey? What clubs have all paid coaches? What clubs have only dad/free coaches?

They have had some very talented offensive players. The struggle certainly is not due to a lack of talent.

Can someone list the final roster of teams in the Elite and AA divisions. I see the first week schedules for tomorrow, but are their odd number of teams in the league and thus teams not on the schedule for tomorrow?

Watched Hawks-FCA and DCE-API. Hawks game was "men versus boys". The looked like a well oiled machine despite it being the first game of season Won by 11 and though scored occasionally in unsettled situations, the mainly scored from top down, initiated from "x". Defense was outstanding to the mid-line and relentless chasing by short sticks, Both goalies played great. FCA is a good team but not as polished and prepared, Good upside apparent but some defensive lapses and midfield could not match up.

DCE is a very good team but not as dominant as Hawks. Won their game by 6, but it was closer (3 goal differential) for most of the game. More seasoned and prepared at this point than API, but scored a number of unsettled and a couple of "fluke" goals -- one off defender who went down, and another that put the API goalie down momentarily that trickled in. You can see API has some horses and easily could have scored a few more goals if shoot accuracy was somewhat better and defense looked decent; but lacked midfield depth and size. Credit to both DCE goalies who were outstanding. A couple of undersized API middies got run over by much larger DCE middies that resulted in point blank shots. Like FCA, API has a high ceiling and don't think there is much separating them and the likes of Crabs, RR, Madlax and 91. DCE and Hawks are another story though and both looked fabulous. HOCO should have a Super Elite division for DCE, Dukes/Koopers, Hawks, and invite three other "national teams" or super elites like Igloo, LIE and Edge (Canada) to play in it.

11-4 Crabs over RR. Crabs looked good big and fast. RR's looked like it was their first day of practice and ready to play.

I watched first half of game as well. Crabs completely dominated and score could’ve been worse - RR goalie may be the best in the league. Biggest thing I saw (or heard) was tubby RM screaming every 2 minutes like a child. Crabs are good but who would subject their kids to that drama? He’s an a**

Crabs played well, but the RRers went a long way toward beating themselves today. Can't score if you don't possess; can't possess if you're not passing and catching worth a hoot. Uncharacteristically poor play.
