I'll say it again. Although they are age eligible express will win this again because they have the most 2022's playing on their team. Chan will not lose. He's been recruiting kids from all over for this. Yes I know AJ is the coach but Chan is the recruiter.

I can vouch for that. We have a whole new team. The worst players left and now we're stacked with top talent and the best coach in the 2023 division. We'll be top 3 in the Spring. You'll see.

Rabble-rouser...you don't have a kid on the team. No one who does would come on here and make such a statement. Why don't you get a hobby or do some charity work to occupy the obviously abundant amount of free time you have on your hands instead of coming on here and trying to start something.

Express motto - cheat cheat cheat - just speak with ant current parent about the " new " players that show up for practice, the only reason half the kids are on the team is to pay for the " new " kids trip to denver.

I don’t see how any 2022s will get into the qualifier. You have to send proof of age and grade when you register.

The last two statements are so dense and I am guessing the same person. The Outlaw parent stated no Outlaw parent would come on BOTC and make a claim the team will be "top 3" in the Spring. The person didn't say he/she doesn't come on BOTC. Many people go on BOTC to get a laugh and occasionally read something interesting. You are just a silly person that really has no life. Your son will realize you are a jerk when he leaves for college. Your wife, who probably already knows you are but stays only for the kids will also leave you when your son leaves the house. You will be left a shell of a man but you will always have BOTC.

If you are born between 9/1- 12/1 2004 you are eligible and in my son's school district kids born between those dates are in 8th grade 2022. So I see how there can be some 2022 kids on these teams.

On or after 9/1/2004 not between 9/1 and 12/1

Anyone born after 9/1/2004 can play. It does not matter what grade they are in, or even if they go to school. Its like any other age based sport. Other than this, the other qualifications are tied to residence (must reside within a certain distance of club's home field) and participation (must play in a minimum amount of tournaments).

In NY, anyone born from 9/1/2004 to 11/30/2004 would normally be in 8th grade at present, although some of these kids will be in 7th grade because they were not promptly enrolled in K when younger.

Listen, if you look at the teams who have won it so far (Crush, Legacy, Express), only one was a grade based team. And even that team had holdbacks; however, the holdbacks fit within the age restrictions making their presence completely legitimate. Legacy made an entirely new team based on age to compete 2 years ago, and their plan worked perfectly. They took the best kids from the organization that met the age criteria and won it. Express used a similar tactic last year. More teams are going to do it this year. That’s not cheating. Cheating would be doctoring birth certificates or trying to sneak a non-certified player onto the field.

Just make the whole darn sport age-based like EVERY other major sport and the whole argument goes away!

Yeah, because every other sport is full of people doing it wrong . . . think about your actual argument a little before you make lame attempts at trying be snarky . . .

Sounds like it’s a heavy flow day. Clean yourself, grab a glass of wine and settle down. That argument has been beaten to death and no one want to hear it again.

PAL offers it through 8th grade - a lot if towns don't field teams because of school and club commitments, but if enough kids want more time, their town will do it. It essentially becomes a game-only obligation - no kid wants to practice with their PAL team after their school practices. And if it's all school kids, then they already are practicing together at school. My older son's team for 7th and 8th grade had 1/3 private school kids - they still didn't practice, but almost every one if them plays club and they've all been playing PAL together for years. Regardless, it's much more recreational at 7th and 8th grade.

I guess you can consider that it's been "beaten to death" by nature of the sheer volume of non-arguments made against the idea. Otherwise, you realize that it's pretty much been the online forum equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and incessantly going, "nah nah nah nah..."!
