Could not agree more with this post! We had a great time with the our boys at both the Clinic prior to the Thumbs Up Game along with the game itself. What an amazing experience for all the boys. Thank you FCA for again showing us it is more than lacrosse!!

Shocker that the scholarship went to a Kelly! What a joke!!! A fundraiser that they helped to put on to get their own relative a scholarship. Sounds like someone should be investigated. FCA is a cult created to serve the Kelly's.

Now the above post is 100% accurate. FCA is a front, a scam and lines the pockets of the Kelley's. It has been that way since first set up and has only got much more greedy.

Sorry your sons didn’t make the team this year; maybe next year, tell them to keep working hard. Good luck!!

"line the pockets of the Kelley's?" Really? You really do not have a clue. The Kelly family DONATES more $ to this ministry (yes, ministry) than anyone and don't need to line their pockets with this.

Sorry, FCA may be many things, and it may have "Christian" in its name, but it is in no way a ministry. My son played on a FCA team for a few years and we don't have any axes to grind - he had a great experience with his friends. But it's a cut throat high level club team, and they don't let any Christian values get in the way of that.

I'm pretty sure the income from Kelly Insurance dwarfs any income they may receive from fca. They took over the old Fila HQ building.

The Kelly's would party hard all the time. Then they heard about hooking up with FCA and all of a sudden found religion.

100% THIS.

It may as well be called FA, cause there is no part of the Christian values they espouse being actually applied to the team, players or parents. Not that it matters, cause most could care less that religion plays into their marketing. The team is good, they win, so continue playing for them. But please, spare us and anyone with a brain any b.s. about ministry. A prayer circle and reading a bible verse at camp doesn't make you a Christian.

My son was just at an FCA Lacrosse Bible study group last night with several of his teammates that meets weekly. No one said these kids are perfect and don't make mistakes, but FCA clearly has been a "ministry" to my son, myself as a Mom, and our entire family. Oh yeah....and we also like the high-level lacrosse.

I guess you weren't at the MRB event where Coach Myers went into detail why HE chose Johnny Kelly. It was quite touching and showed how incredible of a young man that Johnny is. Such a testament to leaders that FCA produces like U19 Team USA Captain / world champion or UNC National Champions Team Captain. I wonder if the Kelly's paid off FIL and NCAA to win. Maybe they did 9/11...

The lack of sportsmanship, chararacter and general common decency displayed by the FCA coaches, players and parents is astounding. Makes the Crabs look look like saints.

Have you seen the number of penalties committed by a certain player on the FCA 2020 team? Have you heard the language from the coaches and the parents? Far from being the role models they pretend to be.

Haters are going to hate; some clubs just simply are not for everyone. FCA meets the needs both my family and sons are looking for and the past weekend could not have gone better for each!! Thank you FCA!!!

Fca is no different than any other club- they market it well but the same problems exist . what hurts them is training and parent coaching at some of the levels. Think they mean well but they can be hypocritical.

as much as they say its not a feeder to CHC it is, well over half the 2022 team is registered 9th graders at CHC. just own it no worries

This is my son's first year with FCA and while I don't disagree with what you stated we could not be happier with the team, the coaching and the parents. They may have some 'issues' that you see with other teams; the difference is they address them immediately and do not let it impact the team. Our coaches go out of the way to be a part of the boys lives outside of Lacrosse which you really do not see in other programs. The good far outweigh the bad.

That has been our experience since last Fall; now I know how this forum works so let the bashing of this opinion begin. lol

I agree with what you said about the coaches taking interest in their players lives outside of lacrosse. That speaks volumes to a coach's character. More coaches should take notes on that. You get good things from your players when they get acknowledgment from you. It's just a fact.

VISION

To see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

MISSION

To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.

VALUES

Our relationships will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.
Integrity
We will demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, privately and publicly. (Proverbs 11:3)
Serving
We will model Jesus’ example of serving. (John 13:1-17)
Teamwork
We will express our unity in Christ in all our relationships. (Philippians 2:1-4)
Excellence
We will honor and glorify God in all we do. (Colossians 3:23-24)

STRATEGY

To and Through the Coach
We pursue our vision and mission through the strategy of to and through the coach. We seek ministry first to coaches hearts, marriages and families. Then, when ready, we minister through coaches to their fellow coaches, teams and athlete leaders.

Billy Graham said, “A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” With the influence of a coach, FCA recognizes the most strategic way to reach more athletes is to first reach the coach.

spare us the sermon's, as you should do in any business you go out and try to recruit the best players(like everyone does) to play for your club.....you are no better or worse morally than other clubs.........i think most of the programs have coaches that are interested in their kids outside of lacrosse, don't give us the holier than thou routine, just not true

Let me run something by you. Is it in line with these principles to publicly disparage a group of 7th grade boys and their families by describing them as dirtbags in a Howard County parking lot after your team lost a game? I ask only because the great and holy BK, head of FCA, Calvert Hall varsity coach, and head coach of FCA 23 Blue did just that on Sunday. Before you all go nuts, it is fact. It was witnessed by countless people. If you want to learn how to whine from a hypocrite, go to FCA.

as much as they say its not a feeder to CHC it is, well over half the 2022 team is registered 9th graders at CHC. just own it no worries

Maybe you should talk to the Looney’s parents that were standing behind the teams bench during the game; my son told me exactly what they were doing and it’s disgraceful.

I like the attempted misdirect but there were no looneys 23 parents behind the fca bench, but even if there were, it still pales in comparison to the HEAD of your club making derogatory remarks about a 7th grade team in a public setting. That is unacceptable and a top to bottom failure of an organization that claims to teach and promote Christian ideals to young men.

This is not fake. It was witnessed by a dozen people. He was out of line. It wasn’t very Christian.
