As the presentation draws closer, I just wanted to chime in with a little more information about some of the topics I'll be addressing.
We'll start out looking at some mind-blowing injury statistics related to youth sports. If you don't think this is a major problem in our society- prepare to have your mind changed!
Next, we'll examine the 5 major factors responsible for the rapid decline in the number of multi-sport athletes in recent years- along with suggested ways to help remedy the problem.
I'll show you a warm-up protocol that will cut your athletes' risk of sustaining a serious knee injury by up to two thirds, some of my favorite age appropriate drills for improving mobility and strength, as well as identify the most common nutritional mistakes that kids make on a daily basis.
All in all it promises to be an extremely informative evening for all in attendance.
Turnout was disappointing, although the message was well received by those in attendance.
The sad reality is that a lot of people just don't want to hear about injury prevention. Had I titled the presentation "How to train to gain a college scholarship" I wouldn't have been able to keep people away.
No matter though; I'm not going to stop making presentations of this type anytime soon.
News 12 was there, however. So expect to hear more about this topic in the very near future.
