Done better every weekend and had a great showing last weekend

Yeah, good luck in Rhode Island. The competition is going to be intense! Lol!

I'd much rather be in Newport RI this weekend than on the Island or nowhere Pennsylvania or boring Connecticut. Bragging about playing certain teams means little down the line when thinking of fun childhood and family memories.

You forgot "chasing t-shirts". Nice excuse. If you want to claim to be a top team team you shouldn't be playing glorified town teams from Rhode Island. Beating teams by 10 doesn't make your team better. It makes them lazy. I guess some true top teams value competition.

How long does this age stuff go on for? Let's just play and stop the whining. The only reason your complaining is because the kid is bigger, would it matter if he was a smaller kid? You would say a word.

Some good teams at Bash at the Beach on Sunday, they could of had some really good match ups if they put some effort in the schedule making.

Good luck trying to play football. Then. You will see a kid 1-2 years younger tower over your kid, and weigh 20-30 pounds more. But, that is ok thou!! Talk about how to develop these kids and not point fingers. Hate to know what you tell your kids everyday....stupid

Where is this team ? When is tryouts? Sign us up. Tired of hearing how Warriors almost beat The Hawks. Suffolk is desperate for a team like that. 91 owns all the Suffolk teams, except Leg. I forgot Zummo's year is here to take over with Denver coming. Express, 91s best friend is an even worse option. Express has 35 payers and 14 players.not counting the other two or three that just show up for games. Those two organizations only care about the top 1% of the kids. I get it. That is what draws the money from the rest of us. They build the top kids and get the name. I know only 1% of the kids go to college. What about the parents that just want what they pay for? Their kid to improve and appreciate the game.
Every pop up team gets smashed on here. So you don't know anything about those coaches or kids. Bottom line is pay up and shut up. Till PAL revamps system.
Sorry for rant but was trying to figure out where to have my son tryout this year, my email is clogged with tryout emails. So where is this team? I haven't seen it.

To don't think anyone on S2S would ever claim to be a top team. They are a solid second tier team which is perfect option for the core entitled towns they draw from.

Bigger (or smaller) vs bigger and older are NOT the same thing! Please educate yourself on maturity and youth sports. And for the record, the debate should go away for high school-aged players (which would be obvious if you've done any research on the aforementioned maturity and youth sports!).

True Blue parents are awfully quiet today. Funny how they play two good games in a tournament and come on to tell everyone that will listen that they are a top 5 team, but then play another tourney and get decimated and it's crickets. A lesson in humility for you.

Not a True Blue parent but putting it out there that your post is unnecessary. Seasons are winding down and it is fair to say there were no 2023 teams that completely dominated. True Blue and other good programs are not quite there but are on the cusp of being competitive with Express, Igloo and 90+1. There are no losers in this age group and it will be really exciting to watch over the next couple of years.

All anyone has said was that they were good enough to be in an AA bracket. Which they showed that this weekend with every game competitive but one. They have come a long way and continue to do so. Remember this was their first ever AA bracket. Next year they will continue to pass by teams. The coach has improved these kids tremendously and this summer has proven that.

Anyone can enter a AA bracket. They finished with an overall record of 2w - 3L & finished 8th out of 15 teams. Hardly impressive & they still have a long way to go so please stop with this talk of top 5.

They definitely had the loudest coach at the tourney! Geez, I don't know how he can do that for two days straight! All kidding aside, they absolutely should be playing AA tournaments. They are good enough to compete and they won't get any better playing in B tourneys (S2S). I like how people will criticize teams for losing after challenging themselves. You need to get off the island and play some different teams. Just because you've never heard of teams, doesn't mean they are not great competition. Teams from Michigan, Colorado (3D Colorado, one of the best in the state), LI, Jersey (Tri-State, always great games, probably Jersey's finest), PA (Rising Sons, very good team, and Brotherly Love, elite team would beat just about everyone) and Md all represented and with very few exceptions, they were all excellent teams that would fare very well against most top teams around. Maybe instead of going there, these teams should go to Bash at the Beach, Hershey, Liberty Bell Challenge, Rhode Island Classic, Lake George or Primetime Invitationals and beat everyone by 15. Would that be better? Then you'll complain that they sandbagged because your kids team wouldn't be able to win their T-shirt.

True, anyone can enter. But some teams would rather not take the chance of losing. They would rather play the same 5 teams over and over at crappy local tourneys and try to win a shirt. Fortunately, some teams realize that it's not about wins and losses, but instead about putting their players against the best available talent and challenging them to do their very best, take the physical punishment against teams full of holdbacks, learn to beat kids that are bigger, stop kids that are faster and use every last bit of energy they have to try to win. These kids are learning about perseverance. They are learning the importance of leaving it all on the field. You don't learn that by playing teams beneath you. For that, you need to be challenged. I don't know about you, but those are the transcendent lessons that I want my son to learn.

Don;t think Igloo really belongs in the conversation any more[/quote]

Look at Igloo's last 2 tournaments: last week Young Guns (this was probably the weakest YGs field in years) - played 3 nobodies in pool play, barely beat a terrible Looneys team (1-2 record) in playoff and then got absolutely destroyed by the Hawks in the final. They went 1-2 in Summer Slam the week before losing to 2 teams that didn't win the Championship. They played in crappy tournaments leading up to this and when they played some semblance of competition they were awful. But yet they still claim to be a top 5 team - that bandits win last year can only take you so far. Daddy ball and the toxic atmosphere created by both coaches are killing the team.

At least the Warriors and S2S play anyone and everyone. Don't know much about the RI tournament - seems like maybe they wanted to end on a nice weekend in Newport. A little cheesy but hey the Bandits played in that Trilogy tournament - that was probably worse. For all trying out for Igloo - beware of the coaches. Do your homework on both.

Right. Good luck at Patriot Games this weekend. Competition looks fierce. The TB boys will certainly be challenged. Especially if one of the 2023/2024 teams makes it to the championship.
