I absolutely MVhate DK and still think this post is way out of line. It needs to be deleted immediately. To whoever posted it, you're a horrible human being.

I assume the original post was deleted . Have no idea what it said but would be interesting to post more info about the poster just to make them sweat .

Over the years I have been in homes (all using the same IP address)where girls post things on this board and as we all know they can be mean. Thank you for banning the address.

Hey all you over-zealous, loud-mouthed types. Please read. Your "enthusiasm" may be hurting your daughter.

If they want your kid bad enough, they will put up with the parents.

I'm sure there are some who would, but why chance it. While walking the sidelines, handing out team flyers to the coaches, I've heard them talk about a kids attitude after dropping a ball and I've personally seen them cross-off a name from a list because of a parent. It happens.

Same. I've seen coaches leave the sidelines when a parent is being an idiot. It affects the whole team, unfortunately. I've also heard of kids who want to transfer in but the coach is not willing to deal with the parent(s).

Don't believe any of those Manhasset or Wantagh...until something is published by a credible source, not some pot stirring anonymous it shouldn't be discussed.

Your wasting your breath...none of the "A"s could come close to the B,C and D champs...couldnt come close to top 4 C teams. Give it a rest...Smithtown East's two best kids graduated...they're finished.

If it is true it better be announced before the Liberty tryouts and not after

because if you don't play liberty, you don't start on the school team. If she isn't coaching the school team, we can play wherever we want or take the summer off!

Not accurate. And if your daughter didn't start, maybe it was because she just wasn't the best player at her position. I hope it's not true.

Yes silly. God know there is no intertwined politics between HS and Club especially with the YJ directors

Why?
You don't think that would be an important piece of information in making a decision?

I don't think it should make a difference. Liberty has a lot of Manhasset kids, but they also have a lot of kids from GC, LB, NS RVC and other Nassau County towns.

It's a long drive back and forth to Suffolk County every Sunday morning for YJ practice - I'd suggest staying local for travel lax if you live in Nassau. Your daughter is either going to be good enough to play on her HS team or she won't. And cracking the starting line-up at schools like GC and Manhasset is tough. Very tough and it wont matter what club she plays for.

It will make a difference. Liberty is a Manhasset club with other towns who also play there. For the most part, Manhasset girls don't play elsewhere but you see girls from all the other towns you mentioned at other clubs as well. Manhasset girls don't leave but girls from the other towns move to other clubs. I truly believe Liberty tries not to be preferential to Manhasset players & families but it is all too intertwined. Take the HS coaching job out of the equation it is a whole different ball game. It might not happen right away but you will see more our of town players at Liberty and more Manhasset players will check out other clubs.

There are pros and cons to every program. Liberty is one of the better ones. Year round training. Good coaching. Respected owners. Maybe a little expensive but not really much more than others and probably cheaper than some. You could do a lot worse and add a lot of travel time to your day. The grass isn't always greener.

Liberty is definitely NOT one of the better programs. The majority of the girls in the program are from Manhasset so make no mistake, Liberty is a Manhasset program. The program is rife of nepotism as well - there are mommy coaches and DG promotes players such as her niece and her friends. Sounds like the school district from Manhasset has finally caught in as well if the speculation about her dismissal as head coach is true - where there is smoke, there is fire. I would avoid this program especially one with this type of culture and dynamic. Not healthy for you or your daughter.

If your kid goes to Manhassett, then your kid plays Liberty. If kid attends Northport, Mt Sinai, Farmingdale, ESM, or CSH your kid plays YJ. It's pretty simple and obvious. Other programs also work the same way. All others fill in wherever you think you can get some playing time.

Manhasset HS is rife with nepotism? Maybe it is - and I'd guess it works for some and not others. There are favorites everywhere. I have no idea if her niece and friends are better than your daughter and her friends, maybe they are, maybe they're not. At every competitive high school, kids are vying for spots. If the coach thinks certain kids are better, then they'll play. Same as at my kid's high school. It's high school, not everyone gets a trophy. Get over it.

That is SO not true. My daughter played on fl$ for a year, Eleavte for a year and Liberty the last 4 years and we are NOT from Manhasset. The coaching at fl$ and Elevate PALES in comparison to Liberty. DG is an amazing coach which is exactly why Manhasset has excelled as a program for so many years and will continue to do so. The Liberty 2019 Team is one of the tops in the country hands down. We NEVER in 4 years had a parent coach which I cant say about the other clubs we were on prior to this - the other clubs are filled with parent PAL coaches.
