Debatable - TG is #1 or 2. TG beat MD United easily the first game and lost by 1 in the final - 22 min game.

YJA starts the Lax for the Cure tournament against the Stars B team while the YJB starts with the Stars A team. YJA has one team advance from their bracket=weak bracket while YJB has three teams advancing from their bracket=strongest bracket. How long can CR protect this so called A team?

Thorn and Wright should both be embarrassed how last night's scrimmage was conducted fortunately no one on Wright's team was injured. Wright stood by and allowed thorns team to hack away without calling any fouls.

The only people in this age group that do not know that Wright is the A team for YJ is the Thorn parents... the kids even know.

I don't think Wright had a choice...Thorn was calling the shots. The experience was for Thorn's team not wright. Clearly

And lets not forget NO LAX CREDENTIAL SG. He doesn't know either. Terrible job. It's just so evident after watching him in the scrimmage situation that he has no clue about coaching girls lax. I recommend the book "Coaching girls lax for dummies". Its a great read!

I agree this YJ back and forth for the 2023's is both boring, and unproductive. FYI I'm a YJ 2023 parent (no, I won't say which team)......

However what is really boring, is the constant dribble on this page from MD parents who continuously have to rank their local programs. Really, who cares? I'll admit, MD has some great programs, but so does Jersey, Connecticut, Long Island, and Pennsylvania. Let the kids sort it out on the field. They don't need help from us (the parents) to figure out who's the best in a specific state or region.

I'm guessing most of the girls don't really care. They just want to play, have fun with their teammates, and maybe even make their parents proud.

Let's try and be supportive of them all, regardless of the jersey your kid wears. You may be surprised how much fun you could have this summer.

Exactly what needed to happen, even freind and family status won't save some. Many and all the other YJ age groups are plenty strong to support some weak players, but this age group needs to reform just to even be half competitive.

Right on. What a great time this past weekend inMD watching kids I coached play for Wright and congratulate them on winning previous weeks tourney, watching a bunch on Leg and rooting as if they were my own, watching some on Thorn win their bracket and hogh fiving them. All of them....all of them hung out between games and laughed and had frozen ices. There is so much fun, win or lose beyongnthis "dribble" as you said. Great post. Go have fun and enjoy your children for hhe short time they are children. It's still a bettter sport to watch than almost any other.

First, congratulations to YJ Thorn, they somehow pulled off a very unlikely win, but still a win. The tournament was run like a shtshow. Games canceled, shortened and such. Still, don't know why Wright was sacrificed to get Thorn to playoffs, that is just terrible. You to say Wright doesn't "look good", but the real question is why the B team was put in the A division, while the A team blew out teams in the B division allowing them to walk into the playoffs and get lucky. The strategy worked as Thorn was able to survive one goal 20-minute games to teams that were better than them in my opinion. The question is... can they repeat, or is it a one hit wonder?

No matter what bracket got which team where... Thorn didn't get lucky three straight games. They showed up and beat three excellent teams. A bounce here, a bad ref call there, a couple of great saves, and other small things that go your way or don't is and always will be the difference in what ultimately crowns a champion, be it professional baseball, soccer, football, lacrosse and every other sport. But to do it three times against the teams that already beat TG, Wright and M& D makes and proves that for 2017....team Thorn IS THE 2023 Best team afterall and, "opinions" do not matter. It was PROVED on the field.

Were you at the games? I guess scoring first in every game, never trailing, and answering and defending every thing Heroes, Skywalkers and MD United threw at the team made those team better…. but you are right about one thing, YJ was "lucky" to win with the 3 to 1 calls that went against them.

TG great 2023's sh*t the bed this weekend, what happened dad?

After winning the National Draw last week the coach decided to make lineup changes that clearly didn't work. A kinder and gentler approach to let the girls who didn't get as much playing time last week were rewarded this week with more play time. End result a 1-3 tournament record. We now live in a society where everyone gets a trophy and play time, why earn it when its given to you.

Wouldn't go that far at all, but definitely great job winning the tournament. With that being said, I'd rather be in a tougher bracket, play tough competition and get better. We have blown out teams and it sucks for us. Kids get nothing out of it.

Let me guess how the conversation went between dad who is the PAL coach with the Travel coach, "My daughter is not being used right, she scores 4 goals a game in PAL, you are not giving her a chance". But in reality, on PAL every play goes thro daughter who plays full game and parks herself in front of the goal and takes 30 shots a game to get those 4 goals. It's a shame that he is letting parents dictate line ups.

Low score, short, one goal games is lucky...sorry. They could never repeat and would have lost in a full game. Enjoy it now! You screwed Wright, hope you're proud of that. Karma has a way to bite braggers, I'd be careful!

Even the top YJ coach Wright put up a goose egg this weekend. Coaching only goes so far you also need the players to play.
