Greyhounds from Richmond beat up on LI Express - Chaney in the Fall at Petro's event and playing at national championship. 1-2 teams from VA, PA. Upstate NY kids don't travel as parents not as psycho, but routinely prove talent is top notch (Cuse area and Rochester). Will see If Texas Mustangs can hang with the NLF crew this weekend. Soco Express sound legit and Maddog west. Colorado tough to judge, but some solid pockets. Anyone know anything about Laxachussets 2022, Palm Beach Revolution or BBL, 3D NE?

They ranked WSYL participants not 2022s. API Diamondbacks ranked 3rd and had a losing record in their MD spring league.

Same thing.

Those rankings are a joke based on how wsyl teams did in their qualifiers. They did not take into account how crappy the competition was at some of the qualifiers. The LI teams should all be at the top of the list, then everyone else. None of the top MD teams were at the qualifier and Diamondbacks were the only AA team present, so no wonder they blew everyone out.

I hope the $7k entry fee and $60,000+in travel expenses are worth playing 3 competitive games against your neighbors in a cool stadium.

You paid to be on tv. Make the most of it. Ratings and ticket sales sure aren't footing The bill.

Not going, but it's puzzling how people care how others spend their money. Heard nothing but good things about the trip. Btw, if you haven't heard it's age based, not grade, so don't whine because a team is playing by the rules.

So I noticed that Empire Black is in the "A" division for the Lax Fest. I also noticed that last weekend they were in the B division in the Summer Face Off. Well Empire is back up to there old tricks and yes they LOST to B team so they are still mediocre at best!!!

Let's have a tournament that has different rules than what 90% of the club team follow, then wonder why only crappy teams play in qualifiers. brilliant.

Maybe the other 90% should be playing age based . . . ?

Age based is the only rational way to organize youth sports. I have never heard a cogent argument in favor of grade based.

Says the guy who has no clue about the huge differences in athletic ability in even just 6 months at this age. If it didn't make such a difference, then there wouldn't be holdbacks et al.

What do you think the 85% of kids playing in Maryland have to deal with?

The lack of self awareness is staggering.... there is nothing "wussier" than playing against younger kids. And then to brag about your team or child like they're the best at lacrosse takes a extra dose of stupidity.

You people are all a pack of losers! Your talking about 13 year old kids ! Its really sad that you people put this much stock in lacrosse. 90% of your kids will not get a scholarship and if he does it won't pay for the books. A professional lacrosse player makes less money than a 16 year old kid working a 7-11. Honestly you people really need a hobby !!!!!

why do we debate this like a bunch of fools? the only ones with the power to change it are the clubs and they aren't. what if the major li clubs and a an org like the nlf decided no more grade, age based to 15 and then they are in hs and can participate as jv and varsity. the debate would end and never be spoken of again. because every club and tourney would fall in line. but wishful thinking....

this link has an age table based on birth month. it makes so much sense. but with tryouts announced already, nothing changing anytime soon. so stop blaming each other, the clubs have the tools at their disposal to clean this up. us lacrosse took the first step, can't say they didn't respond.

https://www.uslacrosse.org/sites/default/files/public/documents/rules/age-group-chart-090116.pdf

love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. try and keep the stupid to less than 3. lol

who said anything about scholarships? I think you're arguing a different subject. I'm discussing safety.... you're name calling and yelling.

Express has older players that didn't qualify for wsyl. Starting with fogo. So it's not the same team. Kid takes EVERY faceoff at every other tournament they play in.

Doesn't make a difference 6 get into the winners bracket. BLC, Hawks, Mesa, and Laxachusetts should make it. Then that top divison will have a 3 way tie between (express v Crabs winner and the other two 3-1 teams which will be 91MD and the Mustangs.) There could be no LI team in the final 6.

True Blue parents, here's a tid bit. You win a no name tournament or tournaments and beat your chest while claiming you are an A team. Until you play Igloo A and B, Express, 9D1, Outlaws Select and Gold, you are not an A team. You should have been playing in the B bracket today with the rest of us. My money would have been on Outlaws Gold for sure.
