The Spallina team is very good--we'll see how good after the the tournament. He does not care about the girls though, only about HIM winning. 18-0 the pedal will still be down and there will still be girls on the bench who have not played. If you don't like it, take a hike. what league or tourney is YJ 2025 - Spallina beating teams 18-0? is this some rec program team, where players cant catch or tie their shoes?

If they choose and place my daughter on A team of 28 players, then they better damn well play her. otherwise make 2 teams of 14 and group the girls properly. Cant have it both ways when they are the evaluators

I seem to recall the team trying to play up a grade and getting their buts kicked, And the players doing nothing on the field were either friends or family of the coach. So much for "best' players, lol!!

winter league. played his starters entire game against another 2025 travel team. ran up the score 18-0. Bottom half of the team didn't see the field.

Have a daughter on the team this is false. Coach S runs some practices w some of his SB players they are little and he preaches skills skills skills so someone is trying to stir conversation

How's the team looking? I thought YJ had tryouts in November and only have like 5 practices before summer season starts? Or is the same team as last year, with a couple new girls sprinkled in? Will they have any games before summer season starts?

There was another who made the team and left also..plus another who was asked to move up and said no. its a mess...even if all is rumors where there is smoke there is fire and 2023 is a disaster with an arrogant daddy coach leading the way with obnoxious parents. Will see what happens this summer but we will be moving on if its the same

That's not a hit to YJ . The best player in women's college lacrosse didn't win the award she deserved because her team didn't win the championship. The people who voted should be embarrassed. I guess Russell Westbrook or James Harden should have been eliminated from MVP consideration once their teams were eliminated from the playoffs.

It's 2025. You just described 90% of the club teams out there.

#8 seed ok you don't like JS fine. Not giving the Tewaarton to the player that earned it is a shame because people don't like JS. Nothing against the Maryland girl but she didn't deserve to win the Tewaarton.

She bought into the cocky approach like her coach and it hurt her. The Sportsmanship component was a very big component in this years vote.

Her coach and former director don't produce humble players!

No, not at all. Someone asked if the team was good. My response essentially said not really sure how good.

Not when you consider strength of schedule. Terps played the toughest schedule in the country. No question Stukenberg is definitely worthy of Tewaaraton. Also a great argument for Ohlmiller. She will have her chance again next year.Came down to tougher opponents.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Go ahead and hate on YJ and or hate on SB and or their coach. We all have our favorite teams. But Kylie is a great kid on and off the field. She deserved the award. Other players are great but none are a close second to Kylie. On another note, US Lacrosse made a dumb move cutting her from the team. Like it or not, she is clearly one of the best, if not the best in the game. Like it or not, she is the face of women lacrosse. Today's young players don't know a lick about any of the older players that made the team. Today's younger players would have followed Kylie and the US team. Now, not so much.

The player with the most outstanding credentials didn't win but she will get it next year. SB is so very close to winning it all as a mid major. That's amazing!!!

What about development of young players? I don't see the point in joining an organization who just wants to win.... Teams need to learn to play together! I am not understanding of this mentality of WINNING in third fourth and fifth grade??

This is absolutely true. KO is a great player. The points totals are not the whole story though. Last year's 100 goal scorer proves that. I don't think anyone would argue that CM should have been in the "best player in the game" argument last year. Now KO is different. She IS one of the best players in the game. But the point totals put up against a decent, but not great, schedule, should not be the only determinant.

Here is a breakdown. and yes this matters:

Stony Brook played 22 games. 12 of the games were against weaker opponents. Many ranked well down in the rankings. In those 12 games KO had 46 goals and 57 assists = 103 points = 8.6 points/game.

In the 10 games against tough opponents (including Albany twice which is a stretch), KO had 31 goals and 29 assists. still very, very good numbers, but the average drops to 6 points a game split evenly between goals and assists.

Now, if you compare the "tough games" by SB to a Maryland, UNC or NU schedule, for examples, the game quality still does not measure up. So there is still one more level of difficulty in schedule that KO still didn't play.

But extrapolating the 6 points a game for KO to a full schedule somewhat more representative of the #4 team in the country, KO still puts up an amazing 132 points. 68 goals and 64 assists. Fantastic numbers by anyone's account, but not record-breaking and now much more debatable relative to the Tewaaraton.

Add-in a Maryland schedule adjustment factor of say .85 to that final total to account for what is still a schedule difficulty disparity, and you end up at 112 points. 58 goals and 54 assists.

So there you have it, KO is a great player. she benefits statistically a great deal by playing a weaker schedule than top players on other teams. Fact, not opinion.

how many points did KO rack up in blow out wins, when her team was up 7 or 8 goals, just to pad her stats?

How many highlight reels did Stukenberg end up on? Did she make it onto ESPN's top 10 plays of the week? I don't think so. I'm sure she's a great player and an even better person but she's no Ohmiller.

How many times did Shelby Fredericks end up on ESPN top plays? Does that mean she should have been the Tewaarton winner?
