It's the reporters. Newsday and News 12 Varsity (owned by same company) both have a lot of names screwed up, misspelled, incomplete rosters, etc for many schools.

They have the years mixed together, last year and this year.

The reporters are the coaches. The sites post what is given to them by the coaches. For game stats, the winning coach reports and I'm sure he could care less on the spelling of opponent names.

Smithtown East over Middle Country today 23-1. Really? Looks like certain players needed to make up some points after a weak start against Commack. Can you say overrated?

Lambert has zero class and is a terrible coach... The SE Team has a lot of talented players with horrendous coaching.... Can't wait for the eventual beat down from WM.

Pretty pathetic if the SE Coach needs to humiliate Middle Country just to try to have his team get their MoJo back after opening day loss.... That's pathetic, shame on you Coach.

Starters were taken out after the first half, and positions were switched. Even with that, it was keep away for the whole 3rd. Don't blame the coach! Not all schools should have a lacrosse program.

After the first half really? Our team will take starters out after the first half of the first quarter if it looks like a blow out.
That's poor he could have won game with 4th string

Maybe they can win the second tier catholic school title. lose just enough games finish around 500 and play the other weak catholic schools and say you won a title. Pathetic..Defense gave up a ton of goals. Sometimes teams and players get overrated. You still need speed at all positions in this sport.

Wow! "Not all schools should have a lacrosse program." How obnoxious are you? You are exactly what is wrong with the sport of lacrosse. So you are saying if you happened to purchase a home in a weak lacrosse school district because you didn't know your child would play lacrosse when they were a baby, they shouldn't have the opportunity to play with their hometown friends because they are not a powerhouse district?? You sir are an [lacrosse].

Agreed - what he should have said is not all games should be scheduled, we need to go to power conferences and less league games and more non league games so the kids can be challenged on a regular basis.

The games are the games, many years ago Elmont and Sewanhaka were Nassau County powerhouses. This decades powerhouse may be next decades dog. With good coaching the lacrosse can get better and competitive. Create a "Power Conference" and you never improve the other schools. Be patient, your time may come. And the other poster is very obnoxious.

Power conferences would change year to year - and it would be good for the weaker/newer schools to play more balanced games as well it is by no means just for the better schools, maybe it should be called "Balanced Conferences" rather than "Power Conferences" to eliminate confusion...IMHO

Here is my proposal for Nassau County power conferences - each teams coach/athletic director would request the conference they wish to play in from 1-5, You now have a competition committee made up of coaches and AD's take into account all the requests as well as nowing the teams abilities and returning players. You now make 5 balanced conferences with 10-11 teams in each (52 teams in Nassau) and re-do this every year. I am pretty sure this is how they do it on the girls side.

Now each team would have 9 - 10 competitive league games and 5-6 opportunities to play non league Suffolk or Out of state games.

All teams return to their conference for playoffs

- Personally I would invite Kellenberg, Chaminade, St Mary's, Lutheran, Holy Trinity and St Dominic's to join if they wish but they would not be eligible for post season.

The coach is an awesome guy. Knowledgeable, responsible, communicative, likable, and gets along well with players and parents alike. And, he's a great teacher for the District. This game was over 5 min into the first quarter. Everyone played and everyone got a chance to feel apart of a program at this game. Everyone has taken a beating at some time or another. That's sports. The ball was held for over 20 min with no shooting. But, what's more embarrassing playing chase while kids throw the ball around playing keep away or getting scored on. Both suck.

Right.... Just like last year when the AA Fogo took 98% of the face offs all year long. Real smart.....

You're right...I would never have my AA Fogo play that much...you might win too many face offs!!! Brilliant coaching strategy.

I have been saying there should be that type of set up of conferences for years. The primary purpose of high school sports is to allow for competition. Blow outs on either side are no fun. Can never understand why this is not done. I can't see anyone complaining so long as everyone goes back to their respective conferences for playoffs. This would allow for all teams to be competitive and still compete for state championships.

You should then know that there are NYS, section 11, section 8 guidelines that need to be followed. As you said its JUST high school sports. Do you really think the AD's from all these schools want to be bogged down with rescheduling, power teams etc every year for lax. They have all the other sports to schedule etc. Get out of the Lax bubble. Schedule some good non league games and move on.

To all parents and players on this site. Please remember how lucky we all are to be part of this amazing game. Long Island lacrosse lost one of its own young high school players. In the end it is a game and we are all lucky to have the opportunity to play it and be part of the Long Island lacrosse community. Most of these boys know each other and grew up with one another. Our prayers are with this young man's family and friends.

Absolute disgrace that an Elite Player would score 8 goals in a 23-1 beat down of weaker team and the Coach would let him do that. They could have used two of those goals vs. Commack. On paper he is having a great year, but the reality is he couldn't score a goal against good team- not an Elite team (WM, SW, WI). I was always impressed with that Team, not anymore and I hope the better Teams give them a dose of their medicine.

I agree, no one player should be scoring that many goals in a blowout. It's embarrassing and downright selfish. It's so obvious these kids are padding stats so they can win whatever award it is that will make dad happy. Pathetic.
