I think that is a realistic post! Everyone is now on to all you 85% parents and the help of HS and club coaches. The college coaches should just view a player for what he is and stop asking about the player. Too many weak players are getting shoved down college coaches throats.
Well not sure what an 85% parent is but sounds funny. I think college Coaches do view young players for what they are and will over commit early at positions because many players withdraw by the time ready to leave high school. For example Coaches may commit 7 to 8 lefty attacks in there freshman and sophomore years just to have 3 by the time they graduate. One can see how it can create a frenzy.
come on Chamy and SA are over rated as usual and both would have there work cut for them if they played Suffolk A
Ha....now that's funny. Sooooo many cupcake games in that league.
10 teams in Suffulk A that wouldnt post a winning record against any of the LI teams in catholic league. may have a win here or there but no wining records. Bay Shore Brentwood Copiague Floyd Lindenhurst Longwood Middle Country North Babylon Pat Med Riverhead
then a few more that would struggle to be above .500 Commack Whitman Huntingon HHH West Smith West Northport
just like any league, in any state/county 6 teams makes the top tier of that 6 2/3 are the cream of the crop.
Well looking at this list you clearly have little idea what you are talking about . I will say 8 of those 10 above would struggle as they do against the top 10 Suffolk A . Whitman, Smithtown west and Northport are better than both Sachems. Maybe because your from Sachem? WM, SE,SW, CONN, NP, WI, HHE, and maybe SN were your from would at least compete and prob dominate at times. Teams like Trinity, Kellenberg, SJB would as you say struggle to be above 500.
Agreed. But, most colleges will not hold a spot, for that type of player. The coach might ask the kid to walk on, if the player can get gain admissions without athletic support. Sometimes it works out great for both sides...
Change topic, what does having D-1 commits have to do with anything? I know players out there that are not committed that can outplay the committed players, out dodge, out shoot, defensively shut them down. There are several on many of the schools that people on this board like to bash. Let's get a grip, most of the D-1 commits are due to parents and not the players, there are a few exceptions but I would say nearly 85% of the early commits are due to the parents.
Really? I guess your son just hasn't gotten the call yet. Of course 85% of commits on LI are not really that good. Yet your uncommitted son is the "real deal"... Ok, I guess he's just a VICTIM of a system that's stacked against him. Come on man, do you even read what you write before you hit submit? Look at all of the top players from LI over the last few years, 95% were committed to D1 programs. I hope you wrote that post just get people going, there's no way you could be that DUMB.
