My son is going to tryout for 3 teams. One early in month, one in the middle, and one at the end. If he makes the early team, do they give you the courtesy of trying out for the other 2? Or do they want their answer immediately.
Lastly, do they announce who the coaches and asst coaches are pre tryout? Thanks for helping me navigate, first time.

If you dont know who the coaches are going in, its a bad sign. Teams usually give you a date that you need to reply by. I have never officially taken a spot by that date. If they want your son they will wait. I always tell them "we are making sure this is the ideal fit for our son and will let you know by DATE OF MY CHOICE". Most of them get it. If they pull the BS that you are going to lose your spot, then again bad sign. You are paying a lot of money to play on their team. I

I agree with what you are saying. I would say that if they DONT know their coaches, then buyer beware. This year there is a long time between tryouts for the known teams. 3-4 weeks. If you make a early team...zero chance they are going to wait 3-4 weeks for a answer. They need to fill their roster also. I would also ask without a doubt for roster size. That to me is just as big of a deal. Some teams have ridiculously large rosters....$$$ rules. Everyone has a number they will stick to. Anything over 20/21 is a joke IMO.

Are there any going to be any coaching changes at this age group?

Pipedream. They carry 23+. 17 see the field. Remember in tournaments you have to blowout/shutout bad teams (only starters play) and then against good teams only the best play. So as player 18-24.....little to no minutes.

its tournament lacrosse, sometimes 6 games and to not wear out in the 'ship you need 19 at each tournament, so to allow for kids missing, 21(22 if 2 goalies) is the max.

Who won 24 at StPaul today?

RVC. I think. But teams that participated Other then RVC and massapequa Are like c teams. So nothing to Brag about. Blue fish -express. -blaze. Ok c teams.

Was curious about Bfish couldn't beat townies, not good for them.

Heard one of the WP coaches was leaving.

The Bluefish had a very difficult time of it in all grades. They won about 20% of their games playing in B brackets.

coaches and kids going to 24 next year. Totally new team next year assuming they get coaches, which is a huge assumption.

so with try outs coming out, what are some of the better programs?
WP, Taz, Igloo, Express, where else should we try out for quality experience?
I hear fl$ has a good program but never see them on tourney circuit. Bluefish seems overwhelmed, Team LI relies on Taz players, True Blue is OK. 24 is wait and see. Outlaws are decent too.

Watched the game, not Taz or WP and I can't believe how many missed shots WP had late. Can't score if the ball is not on the goal. That team couldn't finish.

Is Express A Schwajle coach going to still be the "A" coach or even coach at all? Seems like his track record was not good this year.

Of course the whole thing will change next season depending on what kids staying or moving. It is interesting that Igloo tryouts are so late. They are going to miss out on the top kids for this age and just pick up left overs. Since Taz, WP, and maybe Express will be practicing by the time they have tryouts.

If you dont mind not seeing him 50% of the time, come aboard, your $$$ is good!

What will express team do this year? One real A team and a B team, or much of the same?
