It seems appropriate to break down the discussion by age/graduation year like the LI forum since many discussions get really confusing.

Great league and very competitive. I Know kids on every team and what a great bunch of talented kids. Scores were all very close and I can honestly say the parents made for a great weekend of 5th grade lacrosse. Great bunch of future all-stars in this league. Keep up the great work and parents and please don't get caught up in the negativity of this forum...Lets make lacrosse great starting with this age group.

Did Zingos 2023 beat Lonney's Orange 2023 13-2 in the MYPL league or was that score posted wrong? If that's correct huge improvement for that team

Perhaps. But at what point does become not sad? Check out 2023 on long island board. Discussion is about what clubs are best for college recruitment

Does anyone know anything about Team 6? They beat the Rock 21-1 last week. Are they that good, or is the Rock that bad, or both?

Rock has kids on the team who should be 2025, that should tell something about the team.

Seriously? Do you think kids are repeating grades in 5th grade? Get a grip. These are 11 yr old kids you are talking about. God forbid they play well and beat a team by 12. It's Roughriders you are talking about after all. Not like they beat a top club by that score. Crabs only beat Looneys by 3. They are 11. Some days they play better than others.

Yes, I wouldn't have any doubt that Crabs 2023 has holdbacks. That program will do anything to win at any age. This is how Ryan cesspool works his teams and organization. Ryan and anyone associated with that organization is just part of the cesspool smell they give to youth lacrosse. lastly, how much of an assh*le are your to put down a team on an open forum. Your statement "it's Roughriders you are talking about after all" is way out of line but coming from a Crab cesspool dweller it doesn't surprise me.

. Well Dude boy, I agree with the other poster about Crabs, it is a dishonest organization run by a total assho*e known as Ryan McClernan. Their 2023 team, who known, but with Crabs nothing is impossible. Ever hear of guilt by association? Well it applies here. And stop your stupid sh*t of trashing other clubs like a Crab fan did with Roughriders. Completely classless, that is what other club directors would say about Crabs and Ryan. I have heard it several times, he and the organization are not respected. If you don't believe it, then Dude, you are the idiot.

Totally agree. It's well known that the Crabs 2023 is loaded with pre-first and holdbacks. Ridiculous the ways these guys cheat... It explains a lot and they have no business playing our 2023 boys.... Someone should challenge their roster and complain to HOCO league administrator..Ridiculous

I do not think that the NYPLL teams are better. Crabs and Hawks teams just poach all of the better players from those said clubs because parents are tired of playing for Dad coaches and looking for a better lacrosse experience

I really don't see what everyone is complaining about. Everyone knew that NPYLL was the better competition last year. Crabs are undefeated (likely because their kids are older-legally in 5th grade), but the 2nd place clubs are as expected at 2-1 also (Club Blue, FCA, Hawks, Bethesda). Club Blue is probably older as well getting those Mater Dei kids.

I can see the Crabs poaching from the other clubs in the area (Koopers, Breakers, Rock, Looneys), but who is Hawks poaching from? What other clubs are in the Annapolis area? Hawks develop kids.

Seriously? The flow is Cannons and Diamondbacks move to Hawks in Middle School. Hawks move to Crabs in High School. It's the way it's always been. Hawks doesn't develop kids any better than anyone else.

The clubs just provide the vehicle to play lots of good games and get the good practice in. The kids and the parents of these kids are what develop them into the best they can be. 9 out of 10 clubs in this Lacrosse hotbed are making your sons better players. Your blood lines and your wife's blood lines are what make them D1 nothing else sorry.

Just look at the successful clubs who have over 1/2 the team intact since 3rd and 4th grade. That is all development.

Well no I would call a good group of player on one team early. And when this team played the other teams. The best players from those teams saw these core group of good players and jumped ship one by one to create a really good team. Go to any top 2020 team or 2019 and ask each kid how many years they have played with this club and it will only be half and the other 1/2 will be kids who wanted to win and jumped ship to join that group from 3rd grade.

Crabs clinch 1st place today with our win over hawks today. Really good game. Hawks defense and goalie is the best we have seen all season.

Aloha Beach Lax = Terrible fields, Terrible Officials, and overall terrible tournament. It's not even close to a real lacrosse game. The fields are so small that one missed pass and its a turnover. Timeouts are useless and games are so abbreviated to keep on schedule. Just a giant waste of time and really just a money maker. Did absolutely nothing for my kids lacrosse experience except he had fun hanging out with his buddies on the beach. May want to come in with that mindset because not great lacrosse was played this weekend....Uhhg unwatchable....

Kyle Harrison posted it as well. What possible tournament (rec or otherwise) could make them claim MD State Champions? Strange.

They really should break it into 2 weekends - girls beach lax and boys beach lax. Then maybe they can have enough good fields, give the kids more than 3 games, and have qualified refs. The top teams may return as well. Very weak at AA this year at all ages.

They probably won SMYLA which is rec league for Maryland Counties that surround DC. Good for them. Nobody other than the participants and their parents care about who won in your AAA elite national showcase tournament for $2000/yr clubs beside the participants either

They won their Rec league... Southern Maryland Lacrosse League....Not exactly a Maryland State Lacrosse Championship but Congrats to them...It's a good fairly new Rec Program with a bunch of great Volunteers and coaches bringing lacrosse to PG county...

There are some tournaments run for charity but I don't think you are wishing your sons played in them rather than beach lax. All others are money makers. The fields where they had club divisions at the River Soccer complex were excellent. A bunch of fields in one place. Parking wasn't a problem. I only made one of my youngers games in the rec division at the Worcester Rec complex. Fields also good but parking was an issue. A missed pass should be a turnover. Officiated is poor everywhere. It ain't easy being an official. You ever try know it all dad? I bet you your son had fun all weekend despite your grumpiness. If not it would be on you and or his coach. Kids games are for the kids not for the adults watching. Unwatchable?

You were lucky to play at RSC... I did hear the fields were better there.... SCA fields on the other hand were basically pockets lacrosse fields loaded with Deer ticks and barely any grass. Goat tracks and unsafe

Ok my bad mr douchey pants. thought all club teams played in delaware. i hope your son and his teammates can recover from their terrible experience. Over the years my kids have played on every one of those fields. Some years they've won and some they've lost every game. Been 8-9 years straight and it's been a blast every year. Hoping my youngest kids teams keep going. If you view the experience thru how nice the fields are, the officials or how your kid played or if his team won, you are going to be miserable everywhere you go. And you'll ruin it for your kid.

Sincerely
donkey

Just got the joke. Thanks. We destroyed them in the semi's of the NSCLA after a close preliminary game. 10-2 and it wasn't that close. Love those Coaches with the matching sneakers. Roughriders coach called for a stick check when we went up 3-1, please man they are 10/11 year olds. They got humbled real quick.

Yeah.....Rough Riders a bunch of good kids but a mid level team in Maryland....I am pretty sure your LI Outlaws team would get destroyed by some of our AA Maryland teams judging by your scores at that tournament.

The kid they pulled from Madlax is the real deal. He did damage. They also dropped at least one kid from their 2022 team. They will do anything to win. Already a good team. Can't imagine being a kid or parent on that team and being good with kids dropping down from 2022 or ringers from other clubs.

From where I stood it looked like every face-off was won by the 2 Crabs midfielders.....can't win games if you never have the ball....Strong goalie play as well....total team effort with assisted goals coming from multiple players...Ringer, not sure how you can say that but if that works for you then OK....

They dominated the X. No doubt about that. I only call someone a ringer if they are not on a team and a team picks them up for a tournament. In this case, the kid plays for Madlax and was the best player on the field for Crabs.

I believe he has been with them all summer since Madlax season ends in the Spring....Madlax has tryouts after spring for their summer teams...I do not think he was brought in just for that tournament. He asked for a tryout for the summer tournaments and was able to secure a roster spot based on an evaluation...Like I said if Ringer works for you....Some may argue your simple evaluation of a kid that he is the best on the field as well....Sort of swaying things your way by saying that based on a linited evaluation of a team...Trying to make Crabs into a monster and in this case it is not true

No one said monster but you. Only said crabs allows 2022 kids to drop down and picked up Madlax kid. Doesn't make you a monster but it does mean you embody all that is wrong with youth lacrosse. Previous poster said parents of kids who have been on the team all year should be mad. Hard not to agree with that. Some are blinded though if kids are on a team that wins a lot. Problem is that winning teams don't always test kids especially goalies or defense. Those kids suffer.

Good thing they picked up that former MadLax kid or they wouldn't have won anything... Their best player by FAR!

There were no 2022 kids with Crabs 2023 this weekend. The Madlax kid switched teams after the HOCO season.

Funny you say that, there was one kid who had a different Crabs uniform that rest of team. All the kids jerseys said 2023 except his.
