Come on, give everyone an answer, we're waiting.

If a tournament or league is grade based, having reclassed kids is not cheating, no matter how much you stomp up and down.

As for "cheating", FCA has more holdbacks.

You need to visit the "Boys 2020-8th grade Fall 2015 Summer 2016 thread" on this forum. Tells much about how Crabs and Ryan M operate. This isn't news to quite a few people but it reinforces how much Crabs abuses the holdbacks in grade base youth lacrosse and does not operate within the sprit of grade base lacrosse. FCA has more than normal the number of holdbacks compared to most clubs but not even close to the number on Crabs 2020 team. This isn't fiction it is fact.

HoCo has a better model with the access to centralized fields. Much cheaper, efficient than multiple teams every week arranging for field space.

NPYLL teams will dominate HoCo. HoCo had 1-2 decent teams every year and will get smoked this spring.

It really doesn't matter what happened....we are all better off in the new hoco with 4 divisions. Teams should be well matched in all divisions.

the kid can play! nobody is arguing this. he should be playing with 2019 kids where he belongs.

I don't know the kid but if the poster is accurate and he has aug 2001 birthday, his parents decided to wait a year for K, he's played 2019 until now - what's your beef? Since he's in 8th he can't play 2019 as they are in HS. Would you still complain if lax still went by age and it was u15?

. By the way you write not sure who you are calling cheaters but without a doubt it is FCA, not Looney's. Maybe FCA 2020 blue had less practice time because they were busy sending players down to their 2020A team, 2020 white. Don't even get us started on FCA, they are right behind Crabs for being a deceitful organization. Deny it all you want, no one will believe you, it like spitting in the wind. Sorry FCA dad, it didn't work.

You could not be more wrong. My son is a starter on one of the top 6 teams, is a 3 season talented athlete, but also focuses on being an A student, a talented musician, a good friend and spends quite a bit of time doing service projects because he wants to. He will be just fine whether or not he decides to play in college and it will not be his defining moment or source of his identity

When kids transfer from one MIAA school to another in 8th grade or for 9th grade it is always for the purpose of repeating another grade. Kids are doing that in the NE boarding schools too. There's a sad scurge of parents who shuttle their kids around prep schools for this reason. Can't repeat a grade at the same prep unless you can show academic cause for needing to. Read: flunk a grade. So you shuttle around to a different prep to position the young recruiting game. Calvert Hall and Boys' Latin both do this with a lot of gusto. Happens at the Exeters and Choates too.

Relevance will return. The 8th grade team had no losses and one tie (to McDonogh) last year and the current 8th grade team is very strong.

Before you spout off on a message borad, you should actually know what you are talking about. Kids in private school are held back without transferring schools all the time.
Sometimes for academic reasons and sometimes for athletic reasons. The schools can do whatever they and the parents want.

I don't think 8th grade teams have much relevance to how varsity will be playing in a couple years. The Private recruiters will bring in the best kids for 9th grade that they can find from all the public schools. That's why the talent at the public schools is a total wasteland within 30 miles of any top MIAA school and only the remote public schools win the championships (Hereford, Howard, Westminster.....)

That's crazy if true. He can't play sports at BL or anywhere in MIAA as a senior. It's a rule you can't turn 19 before the school year and play
