Because their sense of self entitlement! They think money can buy anything.

And you think coaches won't be contacting club coaches of 8th or 9th graders despite the rules? Nothing will change except Ty Xanders' tweets about HS freshman commits

I talked to a D1 assistant coach when this came out and he said he hopes that this goes through and is upheld. They hate recruiting kids this young because it is such a crap shoot. They do it because everyone else is doing it.

If they stick to no one talking to anyone before this date it can work. But no contact on any kind causes a extreme rush to find a school. It happens in football a lot because they wait to sign and find guys a lot later. So the kids do not have to time to really see who is signing where. If you do Soph. year it gives the 8 to 12 kid per class to really look over the kids in each teams class so they pick the correct school for them. The rules do not work in the kids favor when it comes to changing their mind. I think 99% would agree that 9th and 8th graders are to young. But the top 20% of Soph. are what they are and should be good players if they are great as a Soph.

Coaches will continue ER until it is clear they will get into NCAA trouble. Until the NCAA implements the new cutoff date rule, and athletic department NCAA compliance people are checking their teams, ER will be the norm.

The indoor season is nearly over. Just a couple more weeks.

The cream of the Goals Box league is shaping up like:
2020 - Hawks with Looneys close behind and Team 91 & FCA in every game.
2022 - Cannons and Rough Riders exchanging wins with the Goals House team (a few Hawks and Bitmore kids) contending.

The MMILL (Soccer Stop - Outdoor played indoor with no faceoffs) league is shaping up like:
U15 - Cannons and Swarm at the top
U13 - Hawks 2022 at the top with Bethesda 2021, Rough Riders 2021, Hawks Black 2021, Cannons close behind.
U11 - Bethesda Sidewinders, and South River tied at the top.

Great indoor action.

Yes, no one cares how well the kids and teams are playing. We just want to complain about colleges recruiting freshmen and older kids playing down against younger kids.

This post clearly sounds like a parent of a kid cut from Crabs that will turn any discussion into a bitchfest about Crabs having a couple more hold backs than every other team in the area.

Well, let me tell you Dr Watson. A few weeks ago someone was mentioning how well Hawks was doing in indoor league. Nothing wrong with that, the same as nothing wrong with me mentioning that it is most likely a Hawks parent/fan bringing this up. But people like you have to get sideways when their team is mentioned, yet not in a bad way, but they still get sideways, just like you did with your sarcastic post.
No, I'm not laughing at you, I'm shaking my head figuring what a jerk you must be for being so sensitive and ready to have a hissy fit. Grow up.

A bitchfest, really. You know damn well that Crabs 2020 and 2021, more than half of their players are holdbacks and 2020 has a few double holdbacks. But keep telling yourself that it is ok to teach you son to cheat to get ahead. And no, my son was never cut from Crabs, he would never want to be associated with that corrupt organization. He has much more integrity than you or your son. Trust me, one of these days Ryan M's organization will come crashing down around his ears and he will be lost without "playing" the system. He knows no other way to win but to game the system.

When half your team should be 2019 it is an honest statement.

Hawks has had a great indoor season but let's not carried away. It is indoor and good fun for the boys but most teams do not take it seriously-it is a way to keep a stick in their hand during the winter. Once again the parents putting more on it then it is. Hawks to their credit have played with almost full rosters-maybe due to their relative closeness to Goals or maybe they don't have as many training opportunities as some of the other teams off season. Some of the teams playing are combo A/AA teams, some have had 7-9 players at games, some games have been holiday weekends when families are away for Christmas or MLK day. Hawks have done well and should be proud but it really is just indoor and their putting these messages out is a bit transparent.

For 2020, Hawks sure does look good. FCA has been struggling - they do not look like their normal team, 91 is not playing as a team and has one kid who rarely passes to open team mates, runs it down and loses the ball more than scoring, Looneys Green is listed as top 3 but only because their line up has been A teams. Looneys Orange looks strong and their games with 91 and Hawks could have gone either way. RoughRiders is also struggling after losing players to other teams.

3 went to Looneys Orange and one went to Looneys green. They also lost another possibly to FCA but not sure about that one. Looneys Orange will be fine once they get on the field with full team and 91 is talented if they can control the showboating, share the ball and play with discipline.

Last year there wasn't a 2020 AA because only a few teams would declare as such. If it's only 4 or 5 teams in AA, they may blend in the AA with A again. Lots of lopsided games. It would be better if all of the traditionally AA teams played in AA. There should be a AA division of at 8-10 teams. There would be some teams that aren't going to vie for a title, but there would be plenty of competitive games. If RR goes in as AA and it's them and the 3-4 top AA teams, no fair and no fun for RR. But if several others at the same level go in as AA than those teams would have a couple matches with the top teams and the rest against similar opponents. There's a trickle down effect if everyone tries to enter in the division that they can win rather than where they can be competitive. There would be mid-level A teams that go into B. It's better to go 2-4 against top competition than 6-0 against lesser.

They don't pay for travel but certainly don't make much money. Probably average $1000-$1500 game if they are game day actives. They all have other jobs, either inside lax or professional. Looks like it would be fun for a few years. Wish it was around in the 90s. Not sure I understand the hate on MLL.

Above poster is an idiot (too many on this site). MLL provides some level of entertainment for the fans of the game and an opportunity for the most talented college players to extend their careers. Yes, the pay isn't huge, but most play for the love of it. The original writer of the post prob makes $50k per year and his son has gotten passed over in the recruiting process. Why so bitter?
