The older kids said because they were jerks. Crush did win as they usually do but it was interesting to hear that their own club mates feel the same way most others do. They are talented young players but the attitude of the kids and the parents is the most negative we have seen in years of tournaments. Really a shame as they could be a real asset to the sport and demonstrate winning with grace and the art of sportsmanship but instead choose to behave in this fashion.

Behave in what fashion? I honestly have not seen any kids play dirty or outwardly gloat- they are too busy congratulating their teammates at the end of each game. I'm not surprised the older kids wanted their younger counterparts to lose- it's not easy being beat or playing close games with a younger team. One thread that runs common throughout this board- any of the top winning teams get a whole lot of hate spewed at them. From 91, to Express, to Igloo to Team LI- top teams are torn to shreds and people often nitpick to find something to complain about. How about we be happy that LI produces these top teams, even if our kid doesn't happen to play for one if them. On any team there will be a sour grape or two, but that holds true for every team. So let's start being proud of the LI teams that are so successful that numerous out of state clubs know of them and their play.
