Sorry, not from LI so yes we do know we are going to Brine and then coming to LI for Nat Invite. This site is great thanks for the advice.

Also, we are from further south than MD and did Brine last year too - Brine is on grass and the real heat/humidity is August deep south. June/July in MD/NY is sweater weather for us. Joking but not very worried just need to stay hydrated. My boy does love the sport. I've asked him whether he wants to push it that hard and he says yes.

Also, I agree that multi sport is the way to go. For us from August until the end of Football, lacrosse is a Sunday only deal.

"IF" you are from LI how do you know you are already attending Brine? Only one more day of lacrosse?... Apparently you have never played in July in Maryland in 90degree heat, 70% humidity on turf with a helmet on....but by all means keep pushing your son
And if your son wants to play D1 Lacrosse make sure he loves the sport and play whatever sport he can and wants to at the time, if he NEEDS to concentrate on lacrosse solely right now he's probably not good enough to play D1 and he will remember games (fball, soccer, hoops) with his friends rather than some showcase camp. Each player will find his/her correct spot, not everyone plays at Virginia and there are thousands of happy college lacrosse players at other schools. Instill the passion, the rest will come.
