Just a quick heads up to everyone that the rules changed this year.There is absolutely no horizontal stick-play in HS girls lacrosse. This is going to lead to and has already led to a lot of whistles.Players ,coaches and spectators are going to be frustrated. What does that even mean? You cab't run with one hand on the stick and pump down field with the other? We played 4 games and the refs were fine w it, if that's what you mean?


It is concerning making stick to body contact while the stick is being held in a horizontal position. Officials are being instructed to strictly enforce this during the season.

What is weird is that you have no idea what the difference between girls and boys lacrosse is supposed to be and thus your ignorant comments. Horizontal stick position while defending is the direct result of all knowing lacrosse dads who teach their girls to play defense like a boy. Obviously you have never seen the welts and black and blues on a girls arm from receiving cross checks. Not overly attractive. Defense can be played, and played effectively with the stick vertically, feet movement, and well timed slides. The game does not need to be played out of control but it is because girls are taught incorrectly at an early age.
