Stack cards 52 or the Hershel Walker way is the best for those just entering into the teen years or pre teen (it is best to find a good trainer so you are not the bad guy. trust me, it helps the family dynamic also). Then by 15 you will know if a full out work out strength training regimen is best. but you need to know your child and what works best because it is not a cookie cutter thing to enter into.

like everything there are physical and emotional sides of it.

Get them training with the right people, do your homework. Speed and agility come from strength. Not cones and ladders. If the muscles are not strong enough to handle the load, the speed will not come, nor will the ability to cut. A balanced strength program is the only way to go. Can't start them off with the old school benching and squatting.
