I just did a little research and could not find one LI public school district that had a cutoff earlier than Nov 30 ! Am I still incorrect and uninformed? Just wondering? Just Keeping it real. Think this whole discussion started about a Long Island team holdback. I think we all know what happens outside the Island already.
There are two interspersed threads here - one talking about only Long Island and a second talking about other areas of the country. (This is one reason why registering an account helps with the conversation.)

For a strictly Long Island point of view, December 1st is the cutoff date. That would of course make you correct. Apologies as we took your addition to be off-Island.
