A famous Herm Edwards quote: "You play to win the game!"

I love Herm Edwards but in regards to this, "You play to win a slot on a college roster"

You must be joking about not playing to win. It's not a scrimmage like college fall ball where everyone plays and no score is kept. New flash - it's called a game and if you want your son on a team that doesn't play to win then why bother playing summer lax at all. Save your money and your time. You should find another, less competitive, way to showcase your sons playing ability.

Wow. You are a really uninformed dope! You think a college coach cares who won the game? They are looking at individual effort. You certainly want to be on a competitive team but winning means zero!!!

The uninformed dope said nothing about coaches and their style of watching. He did, however, state the facts with regard to the previous poster wanting every kid to have equal playing time so the college coaches can see his kid who obviously isn't an impact player on that team. I actually agree that the coaches could care less on the score; but they WILL be at the championship games so I guess your team has to win SOMETIMES to get to that game. I'm not sure what the college coaches care the least about - what team wins OR the second and third lines. ouch..
