The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by TicketMaster and USA Lacrosse have announced a strategic partnership agreement centered around enhancing the experience in the sport for youth players.

“We’re very excited to work with the PLL on several fronts,” said Marc Riccio, president and CEO of USA Lacrosse. “Both of our organizations share a passion for growing the sport and working together on these youth lacrosse initiatives will aid our efforts. We’re looking forward to an exciting summer of PLL action and are proud to join forces.”

“The PLL and USA Lacrosse are working together with the common goal of elevating the la-crosse experience for youth participants and families,” said PLL VP of Growth, Mick Davis. “The PLL hopes to use its platform to inspire youth players — new and experienced — through greater connection to the best athletes and lacrosse on the planet; core to achieving this outcome will be representation, connection, and meaningful experiences with players at the highest level of skill and achievement.”

The PLL will help support USA Lacrosse TryLax events, a program aimed to introduce the sport to young boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14. The PLL will send players to select events, allowing the beginning players to learn from pro athletes; assist in marketing TryLax events while helping to expand the geographic footprint of the clinics; and provide free tickets to PLL games for clinic attendees that are in PLL markets.

USA Lacrosse will assist the PLL with its PLL Pro Clinics, designed to provide additional instruction to both boys and girls players aged 4 to 14 that have some experience with the sport. USA Lacrosse members will receive a discount for the clinics and a limited number of scholarships for players from diverse backgrounds will be available for each clinic.

In addition to the youth initiatives, USA Lacrosse members will receive discounted tickets at selected PLL game locations this season. The 2022 PLL season begins on June 4 in Albany, N.Y. and runs through September 18 with its championship game in Philadelphia.
