Nobody care about the WSYL this year because it no longer exists. There's no more ESPN coverage, no more deep-pocketed sponsorships, no more corporate organization. It's like the NFL suddenly folded and then the XFL tried to claim it's now host of the 'Superb Bowl.' Would Pepsi pay $75 million to sponsor that halftime show? No. The WYSL started off small in 2015 and grew into a great event. Then it folded because it wasn't profitable. The LWSC is a cheap imitation. It failed to attract strongest clubs nationwide. But who knows? Maybe a new, better run and better organized event will come along and take its place? Unlikely without some serious corporate sponsorships. Pity because WSYL was a great showcase to get young kids excited about playing.
