Applying for need based financial aide requires submitting tax returns etc.....to prove a family is eligible for aide. A talented goalie who has wealthy parents would not qualify for financial aide. And, the private schools are offering financial aide to many non- athletes as well.
Define "wealthy"?
Plus, you gotta lay it all out on the line for the Finance/Admissions departments to all see.
There's a catholic school in Baltimore who hired an alum to work in admissions and that was the year everyone went over to the other school bc "The Mouth Of Towson" now had access to their financials. You would think the school would know better? Bad move.
