I know of several very well of athletes that get need based scholarships. There’s nobody from the iaam/miaa policing this. Been happening for years and isn’t go to stop anytime soon. The school that don’t are usually at the bottom on the league.

Whether or not the are "well off" in your eyes or not does not mean they don't qualify for need based scholarships. If they have multiple kids in private school and/or college most families that send kids to the high cost schools get some need based aid. The cutoff income is pretty high to not qualify for aid at those schools.
