High School sports other than football is completely irrelevant. Travel sports has taken over everything. Most schools can't even find competent coaches because nobody wants to do it anymore. Honestly dealing with kids, parents, boosters, off season workouts, etc is probably not worth what they are getting paid.
Maybe for soccer or basketball and some other sports. But I know for a fact coaches have contacted Hs coaches. Club has its place and plays a role. But HS, does play a role as well. To think otherwise is a mistake. But I guess it depends on your school.
