Tournaments and showcases are equally important but for different reasons. If you’re playing on a top level team and you’re in the main rotation, tournaments provide you great exposure. If you’re on top teams and you’re riding the bench and getting limited playing time, the tournaments provide no exposure and that also holds true if you’re not in the top two brackets especially for girls. If your club team is in lower bracket in these tournaments, few if any coaches come to watch those games. On the other hand, showcases provide more exposure to those individual players because the teams are smaller coached by current college coaches and plenty of coaches attending these events.

Very well said! Identify where your daughter fits into this scenario. It’s great advice! College coaches definitely attend many of the showcases. They need to fill their rosters as well. Also, have your daughter go to specific college camps, clinics and prospect days that may be of interest. She Can “get seen” more there among less players than at a showcase.
