You really believe St. Paul's has an admission's acceptance rate of 10%?

With 500 kids K-12, uhh yeah. About 20-25 matriculate from 8th to 9th at SP, leaving 10-20 total spots for new 9th graders, most of whom are coming in from K-8 private schools......not public schools.

Be an athletic stud, a legacy kid, or roll in with a 3.9 GPA from public school. Being "the best 3rd line middie on the T91" and a 3.1 at Dumbarton ain't going to cut it for 9th grade admissions unless you are talking Spalding, Palotti, Curley, or MSJ.

And yeah, what this is all about, is college admissions and future alumni donations. You will donate more money back to St Pauls if St Pauls gets you to Yale instead of Frostburg. #facts

There are nearly 1400 students at The St Paul's Schools, from preschool through 12th grade.

Ten years ago, the SP middle school classes were roughly 50 boys. The ninth grade entry point usually meant adding another 30-ish boys to the class.

There are roughly 70 boys in the 8th grade at SP this year. Upper school classes are limited to about 85. A few boys will leave for other upper schools, but most will stay. That means maybe 10-15 boys will be admitted.
