Took teams with the 2 best records that didnt advance and played in the 9/10 game, then the next in the 11/12 game... thats how tournaments work that finalize seeding.
Some tournaments do that, but not this one. The teams were not ranked outside of their original brackets. Consolation games were simply bracket vs bracket - #3 in A vs #3 in B; #3 in C vs #3 in D and on down. I took a peek at your record and with 40 goals against Rebels certainly was not in the top 2 of the bracket 3rd place teams. If there actually had been a #9 vs #10 game Rebels wouldn’t have been in it.
Time to let go of the “#10 in the world” silliness. Rebels had a mid-level WSYL performance, that’s fine. They did not acquire a “world ranking” for that performance.
