Consider strength of schedule, home field advantage, goal differential etc in the rankings. It is a much more calculated and scientific method of ranking programs than mere win/loss record. If you take out the schools in the top 40 that are not on LI (totaling 14), that leaves you with 4 CHSAA LI schools in the top 26 in the state. So, yes, I would say that SA, Kellenberg, SJB and OLMA, the 4 that would be in the top 26, with SHA not far behind, could therefore beat the majority of LI publics. Why the need to bash the Catholic school programs?
