Why would parents/players want to be the 2nd, 3rd or some cases 4th line on a team? Does the name of the team mean more than playing meaningful minutes? Any roster with more than 20-22 kids is too much (even if you're kid is the 1st line).

If your son is not 1st or 2nd line, they should absolutely be looking at teams like Roughriders, True/Kelly Post, HLC, Hoco and Rock.
If not, have fun enjoying your son play 2 minutes a game for the next 3 years.... That's a great way for high schoolers to spend their youth.

Although my understanding is that the Rock 23 has 40+ kids and is going to create ad hoc teams for each tournament. Kind of an interesting approach. Good in that it lets them match talent levels to each tournament, and also introduces some intra-team competition. But it certainly makes it harder to build a cohesive team.
