That was not LIE's top 2026 team. They had 2 kids from 2025 who are 2026 age but did not have top attack, mid, d and goalies. It was the second group out of the 40 that played yesterday. The Legacy goalie was the difference in the game, he made a number of saves and the post saved him once. Totally anti climactic that they cancelled the championship. Most likely Coach C wanted to rest his 2025's.
It's pretty common if you play a team which will be the team you play in the championship then you agree whoever wins also wins the championship, rather than play 2 games. And this wasn't the B team. This is the a team with its 40 kids. Haugen is coaching with CoachC. It's supposed to be split into two A teams, but that wont happen. Just words to recruit more kids to pay the 4k.
They are going to go all Fall and Summer with 40?? With 50 minute tournament games,that is a lot of PT for the non starters.
They split the kids up into AA/A and A/B (whatever they need to tell the kids and parents to make them feel better about spending $4500). They have 10-12 kids that are always on the top team... and 10-12 kids always on the second team... everyone else floats. Each kid is supposed to go to 3 fall tourneys.
So what are the 3 tournaments that the top kids should be at for fall? And what are the 3 tourneys the 2nd teams top kids are supposed to be at?
The A kids will play at TriStar, Elite tourney and NALF. Yesterday was the B team with 2 kids from the A team playing. The parents and kids all know which team they play on and which tournaments the kids are playing in. They all train together and scrimmage together. Say what you want but these are the facts. The only time you will see all 40 play as a mix is at scrimmages like this past weekend.
So why did 2 A kids play in the tourney yesterday? I'm assuming the FOGO was one of the A kids. Who was the other?
