Is Black Ice still the best team at this age group? Curious to hear. I've got a 2023 and am thinking about how things change over the years or if they generally stay the same. Did the Md teams all pass Igloo b/c they're loaded with holdbacks? Did any of the LI teams catch up? Did Black Ice lose any key players over time or did the core stay together?


It is really a toss up between a few good teams. Many of the out of state teams have older kids just because of their school rules to begin with, and then add the double hold backs to the list. Blaze has a few "reclassed" Crush players who didn't get offers early, so they are a different team, as I'm sure is the same for Black Ice. You do start to see more parity at this grade level as the early bloomers start to fade and the late bloomers start to dominate. Plus there are players who play Varsity in 9th and 10th grade that start to leapfrog some of the better players.


There are NO crush players playing on our Blaze team. This is the age where parity takes place as kids grow and sometimes kids don't show Many more coaches on sidelines and therefore the sidelines should finally quiet down
