Hawks had three good games but dropped a tough one versus the LI Express Chan by a goal. Fall ball is about evaluating players and experimenting as a coaching staff especially in a play day format (no playoffs or championships). Many kids are coming off of fall sports and may already be involved in winter sports so these fall tournaments are more for brushing off cobwebs and evaluating where kids are athletically versus winning every game. Every high school and college coach will tell you the same thing: Rec and club coaches don't always have this developmental perspective.


If you want to evaluate players and experiment, call up some of the local teams and play each other. It's a lot cheaper and more flexible than paying a ton of money and traveling all over the place to a big event only to play a couple random teams. If you are going to bring all these teams together from all across the county, have a playoff.

I get that you may not have you best kids available and playing at their best, but most of the summer teams change their line ups week to week also, but they still have playoffs.
