The reason there is such backlash in taking this good kid off of the field is because many other teams had Guest players and nothing was done. You do not get to pick and chose nor do you make a spectacle when children are involved. Youth lacrosse has turned in to nothing but money and vendettas for Club owners. Parents should get together and start their own teams. Have the boys who just want to play do so. You would most likely beat all of the club teams!
These are supposed to be fun years for a Child. Not practicing 4 days a week, Tournaments every weekend. Kids are told they can’t even play other sports or attend important events. They may be kicked off a team or lose their starting spot. For what?! Why would parents even allow someone to even dictate this. Can’t wait for this sport to implode along with all of the Club owners. Time for some regulations!

Agreed. A minority of jerks are controlling a majority of families. Yet everyone seemingly goes along with it all because otherwise you are off a good team and, of course, there goes your college offer. Everyone seems to want USL to do anything about this. They won't. College, prep and club coaches have the power and they love all this. Age restrictions would solve a lot. But also the $ makers.

If any high school or college turns down a great player because some jerk club owner tries to give them a bad reputation then consider yourself lucky. Ask yourself would you actually want your child to play for someone who judges a middle school kid? I think it’s pathetic to actually let your kid endure abuse from a coach for the hopes of a high school scholarship! Yes, the way these kids are treated is abusive. You would never stand for anyone to talk to you in the way these kids are talked to yet we allow it to happen to kids. I know a lot of College coaches and they wouldn’t hold the opinion of many of the Club owners to a high standard. Be a good person first and foremost then from there do your best. If you are a a good player than the right coach will take notice.
