LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Sixth Annual Midnight Mayhem event, featuring Liberty hosting Pittsburgh, will begin at 11:55 p.m. on Friday, April 6 and be aired live on ESPN3.

Liberty (6-3) enters the game ranked No. 9 in the most recent Under Armour MCLA Division I Weekly Coaches Poll while Pitt (4-5) is coming off a win over Purdue two weeks ago.

All five of the Panthers losses have come against teams that were ranked at the time, including No. 5 Michigan State, No. 11 UConn, No. 12 Boston College, No. 23 Minnesota and No. 25 Northeastern.

This will be the second Liberty men’s lacrosse game aired on ESPN3 this spring as the Flames’ March 3 victory over West Virginia was the first-ever non-varsity men’s lacrosse game broadcast on the platform.

“When we first started this event in 2013, it was unique and there was nothing else like it,” said Liberty coach Kyle McQuillan. “Our event continues to grow and is a fantastic way to share the sport of lacrosse with our students and local community.

“What has been great to see is the way that this event has helped shine a light on not only our program, but the SELC and ultimately the MCLA and non-varsity lacrosse as well. Being able to show this game on ESPN3 is a great example of this and we take this opportunity very seriously.”
