Maryland loses a Top 10 recruit to Wisconsin! Hold on a second and make sure you keep reading before 'Fake News' starts circulating.

Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst added his sixth verbal commitment to the Class of 2019 for the Badgers this past Saturday and he happened to receive a verbal from Bryson Shaw, a 6-foot-2 prospect from Potomac, MD who is ranked by 247Sports as a 3-star prospect and the No. 73 safety in his class.

Shaw has scholarship offers from a couple other Big Ten schools in Maryland and Rutgers. With his verbal commitment, the Badgers’ 2019 class now consists of six members.

Three of those six are 4-star prospects, while the other three are rated as 3-star prospects. With Shaw added to the mix, the Badgers own the Big Ten’s top-rated 2019 class and No. 6-ranked class nationally.

Outside of being a star on the football field, Shaw is known to be quite the lacrosse player as well. In his freshman year of high school, he committed to play lacrosse for the Maryland.

Shaw has been ranked as high as the # 8 prospect in the country in the 2019 graduating class and ranks as a 5-star recruit.

Tough loss for the Terrapins but this could be a way to grow the game with having a D1, Top 25 Football School/Star show that lacrosse played an integral role in his Football skills. Time will tell but we wish Shaw nothing but the best of luck.
