Can't make final assessments on player performance based on this one past tournament. Consistency, stick skills, strong passing, unselfisness, scooping, endurance, shooting, good catching and game strategy is all critical. Can't have one good/bad game to be judged. This past tournament, observation for both teams was the top talented girls may not all have been at their peak performance. Not an excuse - have to keep in mind the field set up -- the length of field - small, crowded, sloppy & disorganized. In the end, it was for a good cause. Hats off to all who participated. Suggestion would be have three teams, there is work to be done with some players who do not have tenure with the game on Gold and Blue. If they continue to add girls to the existing teams it will continue to diminsh quality. Adjust fairly to make it fun and less resentful for some parents. One last thought, at this level, families are paying a decent amount for this no matter what year you are, there is an expectation set, which is to have players strive to get even better, equal opportunity for all girls selected to the team and the biggest one yet ... no parents as coaches. No matter who you may be. YJ organization makes a profit, with that invest in good coaches with exceptional credentials. Let's all make lax great again.
