If true we will never know because Ambush coach puts them in b tournaments. If the coach does not believe they are an A team capable of playing in A tournaments why should we? I have seen Ambush. All b level players with a great coach. That does not make you an A team and certainatly not better than the current number six team legacy.

Ambush has several players who didn't see much playing time in the games that counted. They are no longer playing based on time, but on hard work and ability. The fact is several kids are leaving because they want to see the field, and they didn't this past season. Ambush has a solid first line mid, d and attack, and an awesome goalie. It is the second lines that hurt them at mid and attack. They get that fixed and they are a true A team. Not AA, that is only reserved to Black Ice and Blaze at this point. If Ambush can play Outlaws Select and Express, then they can earn being called an A team.

The strength of that team is definitely their defense. They are mean, range kids who are very hard to beat one on one. I will even say they may be better at stopping the ball than Blaze. Where they come up short is in their stick skills. While solid the Blaze kids are better clearing the ball. The midfielders are solid with one or two being very good ( Blaze wants the best one)but there is a size and strength issue further down the depth chart. It's definitely tough to defend a 16 year old from Maryland. The attack is solid on the first line without having a major dodging threat. The offense is a bit stagnant and lacks imagination. If they pick up a dodging attacks who can feed from x and a couple of physically mature midfielders they could very well make some noise. Will They? That remains to be seen.

Your description, give or take, could be applied to any one of 5 - 6 teams below the AA level . . .

True! There are only so many highly skilled physically mature kids at this age. In a year or two those smaller weaker kids will mature and it will probably even out. Until then it's the top two Long Island teams and everyone else.
