Not stupid at all. Why would they announce coaches for a b team on their website if they didn't have a bunch of older kids ready to bump their currrent a player's down?
it's actually simple, you count the number of kids trying out at each level and decide if you have enough players for two teams, then you get coaches for a black and green team, that way if kids want to stay in your organization, you aren't scrambling around at the last minute trying to field a second team. the hawks have had two teams at various grades for the past few years, it's nothing new
