YJ's are still the big name and when in doubt coaches will go with a YJ kid on club name alone. Easier to defend if it doesnt work out.

One could argue that more marginal players are given opportunities in college because the played for YJ then some of the other clubs.

Name definitly opens doors just look at the commitments.


Name does open doors to a small extent, YJ is a name with clout but so is Shannon Smith. All the NCAA coaches are quite aware of who she is, so that may be a small edge for those looking to continue play in college. Either way your kid still needs to play at a high level to get the nod, simply being from club X or Y doesn't mean much in the end. I would like to think all of the posted commitments were earned by the girls' play and not a factor of the laundry on their back.


gpa and sat scores have more to do with it then lax
