anyone know anything about Athletic Passports a new age verification site some tournaments are using.
Shouldn't apply to most MD club leagues and tournaments, which are all grade-based.
US LACROSSE site now also doing age verification.
Little too late, Maryland along with PA, NJ and further North have all gone grade base with many holdbacks/reclassed/prefirst kids.
Not sure how you stop this now as it is in all Maryland top clubs. MIAA is the place for top players in MD. All MIAA High School teams are littered with kids heldback/prefisrts and have been for many years. The coaches of Clubs in MD have ties to the MIAA schools as Coaches and Assistant coaches. If you are a top player in MD that is where you want to be.
So I see this a too little too late. It is a shame as the USL should have come out swinging at all this playing down in the name of grades a few years ago. And even worst the problem will be getting worst as more and more people hold their child back for lacrosse.
