I am going to bet they move it back to 5/1 and also require 2022 grad year. This is how it was on year 1, last year they made it just age based and people lost their minds. The reason it became 5/1 was because the tournament directors started with 9/1 and teams said they wouldn't go because too many of their players would not be eligable. Then they moved it to 7/1 and teams still said they wouldn't come. They then moved it to 5/1 and that worked for most teams. Time will tell, but that is my bet.

Attract international teams? Thats funny! They will never be competitive with America or Canada. Look at the U19 teams. Hard to watch, any decent 2016 US team would have won it all! Which begs the question....where have the Canadians been in this supposed "WSYL"?


Canadian teams seem to have enough sense to attend the best tournaments they can drive to and avoid the ones requiring airfare. Move this tourney to the NE if you really want to have the best teams attend. There are plenty of empty stadiums to use in the NE as well as Denver.
