It will forever remain a mystery why the event chose to do something so random and outside the norm. And will always be a problem trying to mix and match 7th and 8th graders. It is just not practical for anybody and will wear on kids and club programs. How about September 1 and keep it to a single grade and make everyone's life easier. Mixing and matching 7th and 8th graders is and always will be a nightmare.

Once again- Not All States Nor COUNTRIES align properly with GRADE. This is the WORLD series and they are trying to promote teams from all over- not just the hot beds and not just from the states. This is just the beginning - but it will grow despite the fact that some hotbed teams are not in it this year because the experience for the kids is incredible and they are treated amazingly well. The NE might be the hot bed of lax, but let's not be so egocentric to think that the whole tournament should be focused around our school cut offs for grade. Hockey is a sport that is smack in the middle of the school year and yet the kids live to tell about their experiences and get this- enjoy it- despite the fact that half of their team is on a different grade! The horror of it all!
