If a coach wants to make a point about something he needs to be aware of how it looks if he uses his son at the example. There are some good things about a dad coaching his son. But it goes wrong way more then it goes well. And perception is reality in this world. So a Dad coaching should be avoided at all costs.


And just as many would disagree with you - dad coaches are much more vested. We have had both and prefer the dad coach who cares about the team and is not just there to get their kid on another team for free. How does it look showing your own son getting pummeled by a player out of control- personally I can respect that and the call for tougher rules/consequences to coaches and kids who consistently play the game the right way.

Well it really can be looked at many ways. But if it was not his son or if he was not a dad coaching his sons team. Then his view point would not look like it had more then one meaning. This is why Dads at these higher levels should not be coaching there sons team. [lacrosse] if dad wants to coach coach the team above or below your sons team.
